Follow-up Comment #11, sr #971 (project savane):

Originally I was running httpd in a chroot, thus the socket was in a
non-standard place.  I no longer am doing so, and to avoid any extra
complications, I have removed the mention of the socket per your suggestion. 


Thus, now mysql is running and using the standard socket location, thus
sys_dbhost is now localhost and sys_dbparams is still not being assigned.

Unfortunately, the result of which is the exact same web page.

Where and what should group_id's value be set when the server is in this
pre-initialised state?  I have been trying to track group_id's definition in
pre.php, but I have to say that wending myself through php makes me a bit
ill. :)

I hope after all of this we can find a nice bug to fix, either in the code or
docs, that'll help later users.
