I tend to prefer the KISS principle... Why not something along the lines 
of Oddcast? Simple "line-in" streaming, and maybe a fallback to a file 
or a playlist in case of failure / blank / etc.

Script output is a good thing, though, as long as you can do everything 
from the GUI (ie, you don't need to run the script generated by the GUI 
yourself).

Oh, and nice vumeters would be real cool :)
