Hi Vincent,

I think soapbox is the kind of project along the lines of oddcast.
Maybe it doesn't have mic input yet, maybe it's only a cousin project
that'll have it, but in spirit what we're talking about now is
something that leverages the power of liquidsoap: flexibility in
creating a custom stream.

You're right that it's cool to run a graphically-edited stream without
entering any command in the shell. But anyway, once you've edited the
stream, you have to store it in some form, and it seems useful to not
be forced to open a graphical editor everytime you want to start it.
So I think it would be convenient to export a script even for newbies.

PS: By the way, you can already emulate an ices configuration
(probably an oddcast one too) using a simple script. We might think of
distributing such a thing -- together with liq123 or streamliqueur. It
wouldn't take its conf from an XML file but more likely from a couple
command line parameters, "playlist", "mountpoint", etc.

> Oh, and nice vumeters would be real cool :)

I totally agree, but I also think it's yet another project. Although
it could be part of soapbox, it doesn't need to. It's not about
running liq, it's only about controlling it.

Cheers, and I love KISSes too :)
