Soapbox is to tackle goals of my own to get a good playout system based on
ls and hopefully it'll increase in functionality over time.
The current release schedule goes along the lines of:
0.01 - First Release, jingles system in place
0.02 - Realtime Timers added
0.03 - Music library added (will be borrowing certain aspects from exile)
0.04 - Custom stream management (ie alsa,oss,jack)

So in terms of mic talk over and the like then they will come after these
main elements. However if you wish to submit any requests then I can better
put them into the planning.

I think we'll gain huge power if we have a GUI for new users to generate a
script from, not least the amount of testing users will be able to do with a
GUI.
The ideal product is one that you have a uml style bubble system with
controls for altering a stream and run dummy inputs to test a stream. The
system could then generate all possible combinations of failures and show
results, along with dev's being able to test their new ocaml functions
within the GUI.

Hah, just writing this makes more sense. I would say we're about 1-2 years
away from any good implementation of the real product, but given I take this
on as a University project could really get it going well. I also need to
clear the GPL fact about all this, ie I don't want my University claiming
ownership over code.

VUMeters I can add, but are a bit of a low priority at the mo.
