If your cron task checks for open ports, then it might try to connect to liq's telnet server. I remember that the server could recently crash (and crash the whole liq instance) in case of a broken input or wild deconnection. I don't have time to check but I think that it has been fixed (Romain?) in which case you should check that you have a fixed version..
By the way, I'm not sure that the most recent SVN is safe/stable to use. Romain and Sam are hacking actively on it these days. I could not follow closely, but from the commit messages it does not always seem so controlled and backward compatible (ogg input gets changed, then the changes get disabled, etc). Romain, Sam, do you think we should advise people to stay away from SVN for a while?
