Hi there ! I have a lossless FLAC source that I know well, converted and streamed to MP3/constant/128Kbit/s thru liquidsoap. By listening to it (with ten euros headphones) I can tell that there is much more artefacts in it than the one converted with LAME, at the same constant bitrate. (I did the test) So my question: is it a known characteristic of the embedded MP3 encoder ? (turning the bitrate at higher values gives of course better results).
