Hi Marius, did you compile liquidsoap yourself? There is a debug switch that can be enabled at ./configure
./configure --enable-debugging --disable-graphics yo can find my installation steps at http://dev.radiopiloten.de/dokuwiki/doku.php/liquidsoap:installation please try with compiling yourself - this works for us (with ubuntu 10 to 14).
