That is, if you select the text in the PGN window you can
not copy it to the clipboard using standard copy&paste? I
just tried here on Linux: marking text in PGN window copies
it right into the clipboard and I can paste it as usual. It
does not depend on the window mode, that is, it works in
classic mode as well as in docking mode.

There is only a slight difference to File / Copy game to
clipboard. If I use the menu I really get the PGN, if I use
copy&paste I get the games text. The difference between
those two is, that the games text does not contain the
necessary {} around comments necessary to make them proper
comments in PGN, and that using the mouse to mark text for
copy&paste also strips off colouring codes if they are
disabled in the display. That is using mark, copy&paste you
get exactly what you see in your PGN window in exactly that
form as in the PGN window (e.g. column styles etc.) while
using the menu you get real PGN.

Nevertheless, marking text in PGN window copy&paste should
work, if it does not on Windows I'd call this a bug.
