Your application should get first look at all keys. That's how SciTE can see all the keys in the menus. Scintilla does send some WM_COMMAND notifications with EN_SETFOCUS / EN_KILLFOCUS equivalents (and gets them the wrong way round) but I wouldn't expect VB to be looking at them as they aren't sent by most controls.
