I responded on the tracker: This modification makes it harder to select a word adjacent to a brace. It only allows selecting the interior of a braced expression whereas the equivalent SciTE "Select to Brace" command can select either including or excluding the braces depending on whether the caret is inside or outside the braces. Since the functionality can be provided by an equivalent keyboard command with no great loss of ease and there is some downside, this feature will not be integrated.
