in your case, you'll use clearcase-settings.xml, and if this file doesn't exist and you don't find 
info in scm url, you can use dan proposal as default value.

    I think you can safely assume that on
     
      windows:   viewstore is at \\${hostname}\viewstore
     
      unix          viewstore is at /viewstore
     
    Those should be the default value if view store value are not found
    any where.

    Hi everyone,

    I'd like to release 1.0-beta-2 of Maven SCM. It looks
            like we've got
    ClearCase and Perforce support now, and IIRC there is
            some fixes for
    update URL formatting, etc. At any rate, it'd be nice
            to be able to
    include this in the next Maven and Continuum releases,
            which we're
    hoping to push out this week.

    I know it's sort of short notice, but I'd like to get a
            vote finalized
    in the next 48 hours, to make the cut for
            Maven/Continuum releases.
