Perhaps you can get the information you need if you look at this url for the LoC. It is called Music For the Nation: American Sheet Music

The other url which might help is
http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/mdbquery.html
This one allows you to search ALL of the various collections. It allows you to limit your search to just Documents (Manuscripts, PRinted Text or Sheet Music), or Maps, or Motion Pictures, or Photographs/Prints or Sound Recordings.
Both are amazingly useful
These links are giving me a *lot* to look at George. Thank you very much.

Don,
I'm going to the LOC next week to do some research. I'll be in the Performing Arts Reading Room (the famed LM113), but it's a short stroll to the American Folklife Center...if you get stuck for something specific, let me know and I'll see what I can find for you. If you can get through to a librarian there, you shouldn't get stuck, though. I have always found them to be very helpful. You just need to get past the electronics to a real person.
Thank you Cynthia... I appreciate the offer to help. Right now I'm not looking for anything in particular, but just trying to determine what sort of music is available at the LoC. Good luck in your research.
Regards to all, Don
