ISR that lilo has an option to swap drive ids about. Kind of tricky to do 
it from the boot prompt though.

Try booting up with a repair disk, mounting the partition with /etc on it, 
amending the lilo.conf file & run lilo -C /mnt/hde5/etc/lilo.conf
