To set up the mail server I think I have to set up the DNS server as well
(http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue44/pollman/dns.html) so I started to do
that. I have now created all of the files needed but when it comes to
starting it up (I have RedHat 7.1) I type "/etc/rc.d/init.d/named start"
(without the speech marks) into a console window but I don't have this
file/directory so nothing happens apart from an error message.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks for that, I'm currently looking through and it looks very
comprehensive, I'll try it in a minute.

Thanks,
Chris

There is an excellent guide on this at

Thanks,
Mark.
