This is the generic answer to these sorts of things, but unfortunately, it won't effect the end company much (Linux users are a minority at the moment). > Second, I'd ask him about the "security features" that he's talking > about, obviously there's several things that they know that we don't! It really depends how much you want to pursue this. Reading between the lines (and having read a few MS leaked internal memos:) I'd say he (or his boss) has been sold the "unix is insecure" line from a MS representative. > Oh, and www.scottishpower.co.uk is IIS5.0 based, ahhh..."people in glass > houses". Hmmm, yes. This was fairly inevitable (from the email) Having investing "money", but more importantly "time" in establishing an IIS server I'd say you will be up against a brick wall. He will not listen to any emails saying "your wrong" because either it was his decision to go MS, or one of his bosses, so you're up against the internal politics of the situation. > I really think you need to push him on the "security features" that he > alludes to... Yes, it would be interesting to hear what he has to say, when pushed. May be I'm being overly pessimistic, but I've been in a similar situation (wrt Mozilla) over something as trivial as the wording of a web page, and got stone-walled (or the corporate equivalent, arguing around in circles with different "customer representatives") Good luck!
