i'm pretty sure that jeremy played most of the "rock" instruments on his solo
album -- guitar, bass, drums (except for A.A.). so, if you listened to
jeremy's solo record, you've heard basslines he wrote/played and, in most
cases, i'd say they're perfectly fine. no offense to joe but i'm sure that
the guys can handle the bass for this record. they're good enough musicians
to be able to figure out bass runs and play them proficiently. besides,
contrary to what dan has said in interviews, i'm pretty sure that they had
most of the basslines written for HIFTBSO before they brought in jeff to play
on the album. the guy could have been a really good bassist but i still
doubt he wrote all that stuff in the week he had to learn the songs before
they were recorded.
oh, and for all the people who think that the beatles just played 4/4 4-chord
pop songs, you should probably go back and listen to some of their albums
again, especially from the white album, on.
