I think the real reason may be due to songwriting roles? Maybe Jeremy was
comming in with more and more completed songs and arangements and Dan
didn't want to take a step back and just be the lead guitarist/fill
guitarist for live purposes? Who knows maybe at the start of their last
sessions Jeremy could have been telling dan what and how to play rather than
dan improvising and writing like he did in the past? Just a thought. It
just doesn't make sense they turned down big major label such as virgin to
go with a semi-major label timebomb which ends up falling through and now
there complaining about the situation and thats why they broke up? They
have tons of fans out there, will they get rich and be set for life selling
millions of records probably not but look at for example dinosaur jr. They
Were on an Indie label for almost 10 years with a loyal fan base before
going to a major label. It just doesn't make sense I really think theres
more too it than what we know so far. A band just doesn't break up because
their label looses major distribution a band breaks up due to internal
tensions within the band. Otherwise all that crap they've been singing
about like 100 million was just a lie and they really are just in it for $
and fame!
