Subject: Submerge Message Board: ON behalf of Submerge

Submerge would like to announce the family hour for our beloved brother
James Stinson. Many of you knew him only thru his music as he was one of the
founding members of the UR aquatic Assualt Squad known as DREXCIYA. James
was a very private person and out of respect for James mother Mrs. Helen
Stinson and family we at Submerge decided to wait until she gave the word of
when to make an official cknowledgement of James transition which occured
Sept.3 2002.

Mrs.Stinson and Submerge would like to invite all friends and fans of
James' music and him as a energy force to:

 The Cole Funeral Home

 Saturday September 14th, at 3:00 p.m.

(located on West Grand blvd. One block east of Rosa Parks ave. It is right
next door to the Motown museum.)

Please come and give Mrs.Stinson and her family your support and love.

 on behalf of Submerge...Mad Mike

Music is a life form that lives beyond the physical

[313] track ID

2002-09-11 Thread seth redmond
Laurent Garnier at the Rex club, about forty minutes in, with a distorted
voice repeating (I think) go back... go back. then another at 45 min's ( I
should know this one), sounds oddly like New Order circa LowLife - quite
subdued, real nice piano line.

http://stream.wizzz.net:8080/ramgen/lg/mixes/DJMixRexclub_1.rm

good mix by the way, there's about five available on the site in the
archive. Well worth a look.

No, I´ve listened and it´s not that one... it is a more a club recording,
more uptempo.
Sounds nice... any tips are welcome.

Th record he plays at 45 minutes is layo buschwaka - love story (org.)
wich is very easily available!
I think the piano line is sampled.

Anyway.. I didn´t buy it... but you might.

[313] Fw: System 12.09.02

- Original Message -

System
10-3am, weekly Thursdays
@ Propaganda, 201 Wardour Street, London, W1

Thursday September 12th, with:

Marco Carola (Zenit/Question)
James Ruskin (Tresor/Blueprint)
65d Mavericks - Live (Surface/Blueprint)

Presenting System - Marco Carola's new weekly club venture.

Last week's System launch was a massive success, with London's techno
massive turning out in full force to pack Propaganda and get on down to some
excellent music. Three good reasons why the club will go from strength to
strength was apparent in the residents team, with all three whipping up a
storm in the main room. Special guest, Gaetano Parisio - who worked some
three-deck magic to rapturous reaction, provided extra ammunition.

Every Thursday, Marco and fellow System residents on rotation - Mark Broom
and Terry Mitchell, will be giving Central London a dose of the best techno,
electro and house around. This is the first time that Marco Carola has held
a club residency in London, and he'll be making the most of the opportunity
to showcase some world-class guest DJs and live acts from around the world -
playing on a state of the art sound system in one of London's coolest
venues.

For this second event, System welcomes one of UK techno's leading lights
along with an outfit that are surely rising stars.

James Ruskin came to prominence in the mid-nineties - fast gaining a
reputation as a talented DJ, with props attributed from the likes of Dave
Clarke and Surgeon. The Blueprint imprint, which he established along with
Richard Polson (see below) in 1996, will be familiar to most as a label that
pushed British techno to the forefront of the international stage - along
the way exposing fellow talents such as Oliver Ho.
These days, James' hectic DJ schedule takes him across the world most weeks,
but he still finds time for a production career - having release two
full-length albums for Tresor as well as his debut for Blueprint. London
appearances are a rare occurrence; so make the most of this opportunity to
witness the skills.

65d Mavericks is a project created by Surface records founder and Blueprint
records co-founder Richard Polson, and Nick Dunton - founder of Ebullition
and a producer in his own right, who has worked under various guises in many
different underground scenes over the last ten years or so.
If you haven't heard of these guys yet, you will have soon. Their incendiary
'Defining The Symptom' doublepack is forthcoming on Blueprint, and they're
fast getting a reputation as a live act to be reckoned with. During a recent
gig at the Melkweg in Amsterdam, the room was being worked so hard that the
crowd and even the following DJ wanted them to keep playing!

There are 1000s of DJ names out there - it just seems strange to pick one
already in use. It could just be a coincidence but Child has been round for
years and is very well known.

there somebody
calling themselves Surgeon in Detroit or is this supposed to
be the

If its supposed to be the latter, I can confirm that he

Re: [313] Fw: rude 66 records

2002-09-11 Thread scotto
I picked up some rude 66 records earlier this year and was woundering if
some of yea could make some suggestions.

I picked up one called (I think) music machine (on bunker) ?? it's really
cool has a bunch of electro sounding tracks on it one of which is about a
car.
I'm looking for more rude 66 that sounds like this because I picked up a
couple more rude 66 on bunker (think bunker 26 and 27?) and it was crazy
acid house. I know I should have the guy for a better discription than I did
I just figured it would be electro.
