Yes, it is. In my case was enough to leave two open spreadsheets for longer period of time (20 hours or so) and got "Runtime error". Leaving only open .odt for the same time did not produce error. Interesting, that after leaving different .doc and .sxc for ~60 hours, i found the same "Runtime Error", but fonts are different, compared to previous messages (previuos were using system dialog box, this one was somewhat bigger). First documents were ~100 pages, ~50KB, latter - 1-4 pages. Autosave is enabled (but it had chance to autosave more than once during work day - no problems). It looks like problems with OOo 1.1.x .sxc files. After several first crashes, i got no recovery/send report option. This time (accompanied by different style error message) 2 files were recovered and i was able to sent error report and got confirmation mail. Of course, there are many other possibilities to get that "text numbers" with "'" to "real numbers" again, for example you can cut, change cell format to "number" and paste special as "unformatted text" again..." I downloaded OOO and was using it. This is a real world scenario, wherein I was entering my financial details and hit this WONTFIX of ooo. This occured in 1st hour of my usage of OOO. There would be many such cases of various people. Please try to understand that these are genuine problems of real world people - who are least interested in the documentation or the technical details. Consider a huge data size. Your cut paste solution wont work in a real world senario. Also, I have seen people use excel with minimum size of 5 to 10 MB. OOO guys cannot consider people to do a cut/paste or anyother workaround. We need to take MS Office headone to succeed. What is the bahaviour in latest staroffice? This weekend I will check the working on the spreadsheet provided by kubuntu. You can also try it and let us all know how does this particular case work. I have heard that various comapnies have made MS Office an OS in itself and have created a strong ecosystem around it. People are selling financial charts and formulae, legal stuff all based on MS Office. I hope that you understand what I am trying to explain. "Now you format the referenced cell as number and the text changes to that. As a result the vlookup does not solve correctly and you get in trouble." A simple regexp will help you solve whether to keep - or to be precise - "consider" the cell contents as text or as numbers. Forget the "vlookup". Consider this simple case in excel (this simple case would be applicable to OOO as well --> In excel 2000 enter 123 in cell A1 and abc in cell A2. Both of them are general. Now change the A1 to text and A2 to number and check the cell contents. Using ' in front of numbers was an old paradigm. Each cell's datastructure will have a member variable called format. If format = text, using text rules, if format = number and regexpression shows that its a number, use the cell as number - else use it as a text - or any other format that its forced into. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 47186] Very slow startup when de fault printer unavailable

I use a network printer that is only turned on when it is in use, and whenever a document is printed to this printer, the next time that same document is opened, it can take 10 seconds or so if that network printer (the last printer printed too) is offline. Very irritating for those of us who always print to a printer that may often be turned off. I think this is only a problem with network printers (I am using a Postscript driver Lexmark laser, mapped by TCP/IP, if it makes any diff). Also, I am using OOo 2.0 on Windows XP. The printer in question is NOT my system default printer, but it appears the 'last printer printed too' is saved in the OOo document. OOo must be trying to query that printer for some info--it probably shouldn't do that except at the time the print command is given. That, or just default back to the system default printer upon reloading (though that removes the feature of it remembering the last printer). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Please give a more detailed description next time. It is important that the problem is described in a comment, and not only in the document so that one can easily search for issues. This problem is about writer not supporting multi-paragraph vertical (90° rotated) text in table cells. It appears all would be in one single line, due to different concepts. A workaround is to replace the paragraph breaks by line-breaks or to insert a text-box (drawing function) into the table cell (anchor as character) and rotate that whole frame (using position and size dialog). *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 25140 *** - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Some of these machines run it just fine, but some only show the splash screen and abort with ld.so.1: /aopt/openoffice.org2.0/program/soffice.bin: fatal: relocation error: file /aopt/openoffice.org2.0/program/soffice.bin: symbol __1cPSvtStartOptions2t6M_v_: referenced symbol not found Killed The symbol in question is defined in libsvl680ss.so, and I can see from truss that both systems are open()ing mmap()ing this file, so I can't see why the symbol is not found. I found a page at http://wwwhome.cs.utwente.nl/~jian/OpenOffice.org which mentions some patches needed to run OOo, but we have all those patches installed on both system (though the versions are slightly different). To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=57154 Issue #:|57154 Summary:|Table Wizard: adding a field by hand confuses the |wizard Component:|Database access Version:|OOo 2.0 Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|All Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P2 Subcomponent:|none Assigned to:|dbaneedsconfirm Reported by:|ydamyanov --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Nov 1 12:30:30 -0800 2005 --- When trying to add a field by hand in the Table Wizard, the second pane shows the field name changed and shows the default type instead of the custom-selected type. To increase confusion, after finally creating the table, the field appears with the default name 'field' unchanged, but with the proper user-selectred type. Steps to reproduce: 1. Connect to an (empty) mysql database using either JDBC ot ODBC. For this report I use ODBC. (My mysql server is remote, 4.0.22 for Linux, my mysql ODBC driver is 3.51 for Windows). 2. Start creating a new table using the Table Wizard. Use e.g. FirstName, LastName and PhoneNumber of the "Employees" sample table. 3. Click "Next" and try to add a new filed using the "+" button: -- change the name from "field" to "id" -- change the type into "Integer [integer unsigned auto_increment]" 4. Click "Next" and go to the next pane. Now: ==> bug #1: go back to the previous pane and you will dicover that the type of the field is again "Text []" (or at least the UI shows it that way!) -- Now click "Next" again and try to define that filed as a primary key: -- Click "Use an existing field as a primary key" -- Open the drop-down menu for the Fieldnames... surprise! ==> bug #2: you see a field named 'field' and not 'id'. 5. After finalizing the table, you will see that the field name is the wrong 'field' (instead of 'id') but the type is correct ("Integer [integer unsigned auto_increment]") -- the opposite of what the second pane of the Wizard was showing. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
