One idea in the new GNU build system is that no output modules exist in the
source tree. Instead, all output is generated into a dedicated workdir in 
solenv.

However, when doing a "build --all/--from --html", then build.pl (or some
subordinate step) still creates a $OUTPATH folder in the migrated source
modules. The only content therein is $OUTPATH/misc/log/*.log - the files where
build.pl stores the log files when invoked with the --html switch.

For consistency reasons, and to continue to keep the source tree clean, build.pl
should generate its logs into workdir, too.

1) Open writter application
2) write some text into new empty document
3) click save icon from toolbar multiple times very fast

Behavior expected

Single instance of modal Save as dialog box open prohibiting access to document 
being edited

Actual behavior observed

Single instance of modal Save as and multiple instances of modeless Save as 
dialog box open and user can access (edit) document after closing the modal 
save as dialog but with modeless save as dialogs still open/undismissed.

The behavior is happening for all applications in openoffice suit of 
applications. I can provide with snapshots/video if developer is not able to 
reproduce this. Send me a mail or tell me where to upload.

In BadRefresh.odt, set to show non-printing chars; select 'X', copy it (^c).
select 1st '(?t+ß)', hit ^v: 'X' replaces string. But... EOL is not refreshed
properly: spurious -ß).
select 2nd '(?t+ß)', hit ^v: EOL is not refreshed properly; we now have
(apparently) 2 spurious -ß) and 3 EOL!
It's only a redisplay problem; hitting PgDn and Pgup clears the spurious 
strings.

I uploaded a odt file that would freeze writer on Windows.

Please follow this 2 steps:
(1) Install this font:
http://cle.linux.org.tw/fonts/cwttf/center/cwheib.ttf 

(2) Open this file with OOo Writer

(3) Select and delete the blue text area at the end of the odt file, writer will
be freezed.

When trying to access a database created by our IT person (and stored on our 
shared network drive), I consistantly get an error message in a windows pop-up 
as follows:

The connection to the data source "datafile" could not be established
General Error: org.hsqldb.lib. FileSystemRuntimeException: java.io.IOException:
O:/000320/src/package/source/xtor/xstorage.cxx: :3331;

I couldn't find a fix in the past reported bugs. any ideas on how/what to fix?

Summary: When exporting swf (Macromedia Flash) files from the OO Draw 
application, continuous lines with small finite widths are not displayed by the 
Flash client at the preset width, but are bulked out with shadow on both sides 
and become much wider.

Steps:
# open a new OO Draw document
# set page width to 3,000 mm
# draw several circles approx 30 mm diameter using default style
# draw several "straight connector" lines between the gluepoints on circles 
using the default width (0.00 mm or 1 pixel)
# create a new style
# edit Line tab of this style, chose line width 2.5 mm
# select the straight connector lines and apply this new style to them
# save page as odg, then export the page using Menu File > Export ... > 
Macromedia Flash(SWF) 
# open this SWF file using Adobe Flash Player plugin
# zoom in by using context menu to see the tiny features just drawn

Result: the straight connector lines are much wider than in the Draw 
application.

Observations:
The styles.xml file calls this line "solid" but the interface calls 
it "continuous".
Care was taken to turn off any possible shadowing. The remaining tabs remained 
thus:
# Connector: standard connector
# Transparency: no transparency
# Shadowing: properties box "use shadow" UNchecked 
Experimentation shows that this bug does not seem to occur in the swf export if:
# the line is changed from continuous to another style, for example 2.50 mm, 
dashed, 25 per cent transparency.
# the line is reverted to 0.00 width
The impact of the problem can be slightly reduced if:
# the continuous line is given a degree of transparency, for example 25 per 
cent; in this case the Flash display contains a fairly solid central line with 
fainter shadows both sides that partly obscure other elements on the drawing. 
Attempts to work around the problem by editing the style sheet, deleting any 
other styles that might interfere with line width, did not yield a solution.
This problem was found using both OO 3.2.1 in Windows 7 and 00 3.1.1 in Windows 
XP. The behaviour is the same in both.

This is a feature request to add the ability to include the same column multiple
times in the "Data Fields" section of the Data Pilot. As of now this is not
allowed and you are forced to choose one method of displaying the data in the
data pilot. Here is a scenario where this would be very helpful:

You have a spreadsheet for expenditures, one column is "category" the other is
"amount". Now you want a data pilot that will 

a. show the total expenditures in each category
b. Show the percent of total which each category represents


Currently this is not possible in data pilot, you'd have to either make two data
pilots or make two columns with identical information and then use one for the
sum, the other for the percent.

I can't use the writer at all!  Every time I open a document to edit it or print
it or anything, after about 15-30 seconds it goes into NOT RESPONDING mode.  I
have let the computer sit for hours waiting for it to respond, but it never
does.  It's very difficult for me to even print anything, I have to do it really
quickly before the program freezes up.  I am not computer savvy at all, all I
know is that this is really frustrating and I have been saving all my documents
in open format, so other programs can't open them either!  Help!

Engineers like to display numbers with the exponent as a power of three.

This can be done with a custom format such as ##0.00E+0 or ##0.0E+0 but this
gives poor results with number less than 1,000.

This custom format works better: [<0.001]##0.00E+0;[<1000] #0.00;##0.00E+0

Alternatives on this theme are:

Gnumeric (v1.10.8) pretty much displays an Excel 2007 worksheet, formatted as
described above, the same as Excel. Calc (v3.2.1) does not.

Yes.

To be more precise: there are configurations where pressing up or down arrow 
key 
does not behave like mouse clicking at top or bottom of scroll bar (which 
behaves correctly) but instead using the arrow key moves the text and mouse 
cursor a much larger, unpredictable amount, requiring visual search to sort out 
what has happened.

I suspect that at some distant past time a clever programmer with little 
understanding of human interface issues thought that would be a useful facility 
and went to some trouble to insert it, without making it an option that can be 
turned off.

I can't see any reason for breaking the tight correspondence between the good 
behaviour produced by using mouse at top or bottom of scroll bar, and using Up 
and Down arrow keys. (Probably most users use mouse only and so never complain 
about this behaviour.)

There should always be a keyboard-only alternative to something that can be 
done 
with the mouse. I suspect that in this case restoring the correspondence should 
be trivial (replacing one function call by another that is already in use, 
namely move text cursor up or down one line, and if necessary bring the new 
line 
(and NOTHING MORE) onto the screen.

If the text pointer moves onto a footnote just bring that line up anyway -- 
don't try to be clever and jump over the footnote (as suggested by Pesala in 
2006!). If the new line is blank, just show the new blank line, and let the 
user 
decide what to do next.

Providing an option that prevents scrolling off one page onto another as some 
PDF viewers do is another matter. Then moving to the next or previous page 
would 
be a different action (e.g. PageUp or PageDown). But for 'continuous' 
scrolling, 
don't insert discontinuities.

This is not revolutionary stuff: it's what OO does with mouse and scroll wheel 
actions anyway, and every other text editor I have used also does.

So, let's please have it with arrow keys also.

Local machine, copied Excel cells from excel 2010 and pasted them into calc on 
the remote machine, and it worked. 

Tried copying flat text locally and pasting that into a cell in Calc on the

Note that my suggestion yesterday *does* ensure that the exponent is a multiple 
of three.  π is shown 
as 3.1416E+00, 10π as 31.416E+00, 100π as 314.16E+00, 1000π as 3.1416E+03,

don't see a good way 
to handle the case where the user wants engineering notation but with only

placeholders.)  But presumably that case would be rare and Excel's "solution"

would welcome direct support for engineering notation, hopefully with fixed 
precision, in a future 
release but wanted to offer this idea as a current workaround.  And if we also

Using remote desktop and running OO Base on host machine.
When copying and pasting from client machine to host machine OO Base crashes to 
desktop. 

specific incident. When I copy an SQL string locally, and paste it into the RDP 
session into the query designer in OO Base, OO Base crashes hard. Every time. 
there has been no variation in this behavior for several versions of OO Base 
and several client installations of windows from XP to 7.  The Host has been 
windows server 2003. 

However. If I first copy the text into Notepad on the host, and then copy THAT 
and paste it into Base on the host, it works fine.  So there's no issues with 
the connecting cliboards. or the local clipboard on the host. 

for S&G I just tried to paste text from my client into Writer on the host. It 
also failed, but didn't crash. It gave me the error message "Requested 
Clipboard format is not available". 

I also tried paste special as unformatted text. same result. Same success when 
pasting into notepad on the host, and then copying that and pasting into 
writer.

If you create a chart and afterwards you wanna add a description by right-click 
and hit "description" the description will change the size of the chart. I have 
a 
scientific chart with biomechanical content. So it's very large and neccesary 
to 
have the right size. But with the description tool as it is right now it's not 
possible. Because the description takes too much space.
So better would be if the description doesn't change the size of the chart and 
just well be like attached to the chart. But in a way that in still is moved 
along 
with the chart as the chart itself is moved.

When using the filter in table data view in base, when you apply filters which 
result in 0 items matching the criteria, the filter values are cleared, making 
you start over. 
As long as SOME data matches the filter criteria then you can click on the 
filter icon and modify your filter rules. Unless your filter rules result in 
nothing returned. Then the filter icon is greyed and the filter set can no 
longer be modified. It must be cleared and you have to start over again. Which 
is very frustrating when you've built a complex filter set and have to start 
from scratch when the results are empty. 

Example: 

fieldname foo = 45
And fieldname bar = "monkey"
Then click ok.

if this results in a match, you can click the filter icon again and modify the 
filter set and carry on. 

for example:

fieldname foo = 45
And fieldname bar = "monk%"
Then click ok.

but. if, for example, there's a typo or for whatever reason no data is returned 
such as from the following. 

fieldname foo = 45
And fieldname bar = "mynkey"
Then click okay

The filter icon is greyed, and the only way to carry on is to clear the filter 
and add your filters again.

1.  Create new presentation
2.  Draw a shape – for example a simple ellipse
3.  Enter some text in the shape
4.  Add “Spin” custom animation to the shape (context menu --> Custom 
Animation…
--> Add… --> “Emphasis” tab --> Spin --> OK)
5.  Repeat steps 2-3 for another shape
6.  Add “Shimmer” custom animation to the second shape
7.  Change animation effect for the second shape to “Spin” (select the 
shape -->
Custom animation pane --> Change… --> “Emphasis” tab --> Spin --> OK)
8.  Press F5 and play animation for both shapes

Actual result: Animation for two shapes differs: the first shape spins itself
but in the second shape only text spins.

In general, if I change “shape” effect to “text” effect it still is applied to
the whole shape, and vice versa.

“Text” effects: shimmer, wave, grow with color, color over by letter, and color
over by word.

“Shape” effects (all emphasis effects that could be applied to a shape without
text): change fill/line color, spin, transparency, color blend,
complementary/contrasting color, desaturate, flash bulb, lighten, blast, blink,
flicker, and teeter.

Notes:
1.  Workaround is quite simple: do not change the animation, just remove it 
and
add new one.
2.  The same problem for all kinds of shapes with text (even lines)
3.  The same problem in DEV300m97

document any enter some tet in the yellow marked area on page two -> Writer will
loop
I was only able to reproduce this as described on Linux. On Windows, you first

In OO version 3.0, I can open an excel file, it has 19 sheet, each sheet filled
 to Q column.


This file opened in 3 to 5 minutes in OO version 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3, and not
responding each time scrolled page up or down, or move control to other sheet.

Is there any feature removed?
