[arr] The seven wonder

2007-10-15 Thread satish_srini
After Taare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan is all set to produce a film
titled Seven Hours. It is said to be a psychological thriller and
will be directed by A R Murgadoss. The script of film is ready and is
scheduled to go on the floors in early 2008.

A source says, "Aamir Khan loved the idea of this psychological
thriller and discussed it with Murgodoss. The film is a stylised
thriller and will be shot overseas with a Hollywood cameraman. The
story talks about a thriller that spans seven hours with a lot of
action."

At present Aamir is busy with the post-production of Taare Zameen Par
and the shooting of Gajani produced by Madhu Varma. Aamir is also
considering his wife Kiran's script who is giving the final touches
for the film. However Aamir has preferred to start Seven Hours after
completing work for Gajani.

Says the source, "The music will be provided by A R Rahman and
choreographed by Ahmed Khan. Naturally Aamir Khan will be playing the
lead role while the female lead will be finalised soon."

Aamir Khan remained unavailable for comment.

[arr] Bhairavi, a musical film by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra

2007-10-15 Thread Bergin Roy
*Rakeysh Mehra has moved on*

He has reason to be excited. Yet, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, director of *Rang
De Basanti*, isn't quite basking in the glow of the glory and adulation that
the smash hit has fetched him. That seems to be against his natural grain.

"I began working on my next idea even as RDB was in post-production," says
the director who currently has the entire nation eating off the palm of his
hand. "I could not have continued to live with the film forever. The only
way I could have kept my sanity was by moving on," he adds.

"*Rang De Basanti* took a lot out of all of us," says Mehra. "The high that
it gave us had to stop somewhere." It stopped when the idea of *Bhairavi,* a
musical film on which Mehra will collaborate with Chennai composer AR
Rahman, crystallised. He is currently working on the screenplay and hopes to
set the film rolling before the end of the year.

[arr] ARR's health

2007-10-15 Thread Chord
Don't like to pry into personal business, but it concerns me how ARR's
hectic lifestyle may be affecting his health. There are reports that
he goes for long periods without sleep, eating, etc. I know his
music and passion and hard work sustain him, but he is a human being.
I pray he continues to be healthy and vibrant for a long time, and to
that extent, I hope he takes good care of his health, gets medical
checkups periodically, etc. Of course, he has his mother to lecture
him about all of this, but as a caring fan, I hope he doesn't get
burnt out due to poor health for his sake alone. I'm amazed at how he
manages to pull through despite forgoing sleep and food at times,
changing time zones constantly, etc. Mind over matter, you could call
it. But, there are limits and I hope he respects those.

Take good care, our Music Maestro. We all pray for you.

[arr] ATM - The music of the film was to be released today

2007-10-15 Thread Arun
Azhagiya Tamil Magan has A.R. Rahman composing music for a Vijay film after a
long time. The music of the film was to be released today, but has been
postponed.

Sources say that the audio will be out soon.
Starring Vijay, Shriya and Namitha, Azhagiya Tamil Magan is supposedly a
sci-fi thriller. It is about a young man who has extra-sensory powers.
The film is slated for a Deepavali release.

Although he hasn't slept for nearly 40 hours, he wears a his trademark
smile. Over to the Chennai maestro.. A R Rahman:

Are you ready to select new talent in the Fever 104 FM Voice Hunt?
I'm
not selecting them. I feel bad when you say that. I love to hear fresh
voices. I'm sure even people will be excited. It'll be great to have
Delhi's talent while we perform there. We did that in the US too, and
it worked very well.

You're accustomed to working late in the night. What makes you look tired now?
I'm jet lagged. I'm coming straight from a flight from the UK. I just finished
recording the album of The Lord Of The Rings. Working on a stage musical is
time and energy consuming.

Are films better than musicals?
I
like the instinct of films. You finish them and move on. In musicals,
you do your thing, you rewrite and do it till it's perfect.

Any recent movies you've worked on?
Elizabeth II and Jodhaa Akbar. Come to think of it, it's strange but both are
15th century historicals. They're not dry subjects though. Jodhaa sounds fine
to me. There are lots of songs in it.

Weren't you approached to compose the songs of Om Shanti Om?
 I
love to hear fresh voices. I'm sure even people will be excited. It'll
be great to have Delhi's talent while we perform there. We did that in
the US too, and it worked very well.Farah (Khan) came to me but something went
wrong in the contract. I appreciate what Vishal Shekhar have done.

Of late, you've also made an informal foray into some aspects of filmmaking.
True?
Oh!
Who spilled the beans? Well, it's a great responsibility. Initially, I
used to leave a song to its fate. But now, I feel a sense of
responsibility. People trust you and you have to live up to their
expectations. A song's placement or treatment means a lot to the
composers.. you can't let it go wrong. So, I've become an alarmist.
But, I've no plans to act. I just can't do it.

Any angst regarding the industry?
Sometimes
we are pushed. People want to release films on a festival day or on a
particular date. Then your creativity gets affected. I don't
compromise, nor do I stop working with them because I can under stand
their situation too.

A lot of artistes complain about the way you make them record on a dummy track.
(Laughs)
Who told you that? You have to tell me. Actually,
