There's a big problem to get all the BGMs actually. I'm ripping the BGMs from a VCD not a DVD. SO, i can't cancel the voice and other sounds. On april 2006, on a music program in Amrutha TV, Baranikkavu Shivakumar was the guest. He is the one who written the songs for the film Penpada(1975). He started to sing vellithen kinnam pol and declared its ARR's tune. When he was working for that film, the music director was R.K.Shekhar(ARR's father). Totally 4 song to compose. He composed 3 song and take a break. That time six year old ARR came and play some music bits in Harmonium. All are surprised and ask him to do the full song. Everyone like it and decided to use it as the movie's soundtrack. Its titled Vellithen Kinnam Pol and sung by Jayachandran. Whole orchestra is done by his father RK Shekar but the basic tune is Rahman's. When ARR came to trivandrum (Kerala) for Kairali-Swaralaya award, KJ.Yesudas confirmed this story and sang this song on stage! Yuvan Shankar Raja's Billa-2007 audio has taken a tremendous
opening and even toppled AR Rahman's Azhagiya Tamil Magan within the release of
just 3 days. The CDs and Cassettes hit the market on Monday and nearly 25,000
CD's and cassettes of Billa were sold out on the opening day itself all over
the state.
It is the second highest sale of audio of a Tamil movie after Sivaji and first
ever grand opening for Ajith. This is not only a big relief for Ajith, but for
Yuvan too. He is almost lost his phase, when three of his Diwali release audios
failed to attract film music lovers. But his remix of 'My name is Billa...' and
'Vethalaya Pottendi
' are rocking the state and proves that Rajini songs are
evergreen.

Maybe he does not want to disapoint the original composers. In a function to honour MSV which was attended by A.R., i remeber MSV telling that he was very happy with the Totthal Poo Malarum retune because he RETUNED the song but not spoiling the original song by adding some foreign sounds into it. He also said that new MDs are spoiling his songs by adding noisy foreign sounds in the name of REMIX. It was already decided that we will have Mangalyam Thanthuna as lyrics for the song as it suited the situation The endrendum punnagai lyrics was written by Rahman himself... HE has contributed the opening lyrics of many more songs!! After I was recognised as a singer, and I started singing for lots of other composers, i felt that it's been a long time since i had sung for Rahman - even harmony or tracks... So, I wrote a mail to Rahman saying i wanted to sing for him - even if it was harmony or tracks.. And I got a very sweet reply from him - 'When God has given you wings, why do you want to crawl? He was a Hit with Roja Janeman and Ishq Bina. The girls also were outstanding like aways, leading the pack was Swarada, Swarali, Pallavi and Megha. Pallavi's SHAKALAKA BABY from Bombay Dreams literally brought the house down ! Satyajeet's flute performance of Bombay theme was something worth experiencing and he brought extra punch in the performance this time with new set of bamboo flutes ! He was too good.. This show did deliver a consistant performance dispite last minute glitches such as sudden tour of Ajat Atre, Hrishikesh Ranade and the DIFFICULT and at times UNEXPLAINABLE attitude of the media management company who had contracted the group to give the performance. Dispite this, the group DELIEVERED handsomely and I am sure, they will get more and more opportunities to showcase their talent to RAHMAN fans in other cities. My Aim is to give this chance to show their capacity and grasp of Rahman's music to RAHMAN himself !!! Will the GURU notice them Inshallah ! Some day HE will !
