I don't know what a PLC is used for, so I can't really say how useful it is versus C#. I can say that programming skills can be useful for procedural audio, or dynamic audio effects, though that largely depends on what position you want and your work flow.If your interested in breaking into the industry you should probably try hanging around game developer sites like Gamasutra, Tigsource, indiedb, gamesindustry.biz, etc. Try networking with other audio engineers and game developers, participate or team up in things like the Ludum Dare competition, or any of the many game jams that are regularly going on at GameJolt or itch.io. That can help give you a good sense of whats needed and where to go.

hello,if i got what you've ment correctly:of course it will help you, but not so mutchyou know, designing sounds is not related to programming, but playing it inside the game, or somehow if your library has support for filters, echo, etc, you can try that with programmingit doesn't help you about designing your sounds, but it help you to somehow change the sounds in your game, load it, give filters, and play the sound in different conditions

Your knowledge of c# may make you more enticing to employers because part of designing audio is knowing what sounds you need to design. If you know the basic framework of how a game is programmed, you may be able to make intuitive guesses about what sounds you will need. Still, knowing C# or PLC will not directly help you in making audio, as you probably know. But if you plan to help game development, knowing about how the game is programmed is just an extra feather in your cap and something that will help you to work more efficiently than if you just know how the end user would play the game. It also puts you more in the know when it comes to discussing what is needed with game developers. The less simplification that they have to do to explain what you need, the better it will be for them, and the more confident you will feel about their expectations. Finally, the more things youc an put on your resume that have to do with game development, the better it will be for you. I am no
 t sure what PLC is, but knowing the ins and outs of object oriented programming, even if your future game industry employer won't be programming in c#, is paramount to understanding how games are developed these days. Most programming languages are object-oriented ones and share common concepts, so knowing basic concepts of one will help you know about all of them.

I have recently graduated university with a degree in Audio design and production, with aspirations to break into the industry as a games sound designer, however I am currently faced with a decision in need of a programmers insight.
