CCNP and CCDA... [7:42684]
I would like to say that I've browsed through many news and web groups, but you guys are the top I've seen. I find myself being intimidated reading your indepth responses. I finished up my CCNP last week and finished my CCDA exam this morning. I plan on sitting the CCDP exam in 2 weeks and taking the CCIE written in 2 months after a short "Army paid fun-filled trip" out east. ha ha I feel fortunate that I am able to do this type of work for 12-14+ hours a day and then come home and spend several more hours learning from you guys. I normally would just look at Ebay, but being in the military, we have all sorts of wierd rules about where and how we have to purchase, even if that means passing up a great deal and having to pay more. RE: MBA or CCIE [7:41809]
Ok, I've been following this thread for a while and I have a stupid question. How is a CCIE certification comparable to an MBA? I guess I don't understand this because I am in the military and am not exposed to the environment where this would be relevant. It seems to me that an individual who has an MBA is the office/sit at a desk type of person, whereas an individual with a CCIE is neck-deep in technology and getting their hands dirty. Am I off-base here? I sure don't want to offend anyone with my ignorance of the subject. I am actively persuing my CCIE certification having earned my CCNP yesterday! I am also 5 classes away from finishing my Bachelor's degree. I would be interested to know if I need both the MBA and the CCIE, because I definitely plan on earning the CCIE. Does anyone know what the Cisco part number of the DB60 DTE to DB60 DCE back to back crossover cable? I realize the part number may be different based on cable length, so let's use a 6 foot cable. Does anyone know of a good step by step tutorial for setting up minicom for use to terminal into routers and switches? Pardon my ignorance, I've done a good amount of work with linux, but I've never used any terminal program besides HyperTerminal (don't laugh) on anything but windows.
