Bug#455694: dash: crashes GTK+ when run as /bin/sh
Hi, I reassigned #455694 to the gdm package, please see below and the buglog http://bugs.debian.org/455694 Regards, Gerrit. The error from gtk+ is because the real uid does not match the effective uid, but I have no idea how dash should have changed either of them. Please check again whether it's really the change of /bin/sh, and also post the output of `ls -l /bin/dash`. Sorry, I sent an incomplete mail by mistake. As I said, I can reconstruct the behavior anytime, but I forgot to give some additional information: The error only occurs when using GDM for login. If I call startxfce4 from a VT, everything works. So maybe GDM is to blame. Here's the output from ls -l: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure dash Adding `diversion of /bin/sh to /bin/sh.distrib by dash??? More information: GTK+ startup works with KDM and XDM, so the problem exists only between dash and GDM. Andreas -- You will wish you hadn't. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
