[Dspace-tech] Text Highlighting or Full text Searching
I have installled Dspace 3.0 with postgresql and using JSPUI with discovery. I enbaled media filter for html, pdf word to search text within these format documents. But when i check it i dont get the result. I only get the result if my search word is present in title or abstract field. Can anyone help me to resolve this issue. I checked the demo on dspace.org and it gives the searching within the pdf documents also. E.g. If i am searching authentication word and if this word doesn't exist in title or in abstract but do exists with in the pdf document i must get that result. This is currenty not happening in my installed version. Thanks -- Master Visual Studio, SharePoint, SQL, ASP.NET, C# 2012, HTML5, CSS, MVC, Windows 8 Apps, JavaScript and much more. Also, make sure your PDFs contain searchable text - try selecting text with your mouse in the PDF. You can also log in as administrator and verify that the text has been successfully extracted by editing the item, looking at its bitstreams and checking that the TEXT bundle contains a text document corresponding to the PDF, downloading it and viewing it to see if it was extracted correctly. Re: [Dspace-tech] Text Highlighting or Full text Searching
Unfortunately the highlighting and search snippets is currently a XMLUI-only functionality. From the DSpace 3.0 documentation https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC3x/Discovery#Discovery-DiscoverySOLRIndexMaintenance XMLUI-only: * Hit highlighting and search snippets support * More like this (related items) Hope this help, Andrea Il 07/01/2013 10:11, helix84 ha scritto: On Mon, Jan 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM, mErRYo merryob...@yahoo.com wrote: I have installled Dspace 3.0 with postgresql and using JSPUI with discovery. Hi Andrea, I don't see any indication that he was asking about search results highlighting. As I understood it, he seems to have a problem with indexing/searching fulltext documents. true ;-) I was confused by the email subject, my answer will be good for the next step (when the search will work and no text-snippets will be shown) Andrea Il 07/01/2013 13:49, helix84 ha scritto: Hi Andrea, I don't see any indication that he was asking about search results highlighting. [Dspace-tech] Add Custom Crosswalk Plugin.
Hello, I am trying to harvest metadata and bitstream from an external dspace installation, into my repository, however some of the Items I want to harvest have customise metadata schema, hence I am unable to retrieve those metadata. Is it possible to retrieve custom metadata from the external source. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [Dspace-tech] discovery index update
I'm planning on releasing Manakin and I will be using discovery, so I'm planning on running ./bin/dspace update-discovery-index My question is should I run ./bin/dspace update-discovery-index as a cron job nightly to maintain the discovery index up-to-date? Hi, On 08/01/13 09:48, Jose Blanco wrote: I'm planning on releasing Manakin and I will be using discovery, [...] My question is should I run ./bin/dspace update-discovery-index as a cron job nightly to maintain the discovery index up-to-date? You shouldn't have to -- the event consumer that you set up as part of enabling Discovery should ensure that your index is updated whenever you change items through the normal DSpace mechanisms. If you change items / item metadata directly in the database, no event will be fired, so in that case you'll have to update the index manually (same for non-Discovery indexing). In that case, update-discovery-index -fc is probably best (force update, remove deleted documents). Note that the documentation recommends to run update-discovery-index -o periodically to help improve memory usage (https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC18/Discovery#Discovery-RoutineDiscoverySOLRIndexMaintenance). This optimises the solr core but it won't make any changes to what is indexed. cheers, Andrea -- Dr Andrea Schweer IRR Technical Specialist, ITS Information Systems The University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand -- Master Visual Studio, SharePoint, SQL, ASP.NET, C# 2012, HTML5, CSS, MVC, Windows 8 Apps, JavaScript and much more. Re: [Dspace-tech] DSpace statistics: Top country and Top city views
In April 2012, the query and response below were posted. (1) I am seeing the same issue in DSpace 3.0 and (2) have verified (and re-verified) that the file noted below is present and current. Any additional suggestions?
