RE: [Elecraft] How does the W-1 work?
Welcome to the world of SW. In this day, more of the functionality of a circuit is often done in software, and that software can be very complex. In fact, SW in general is far more complex than hardware just because it can be. Complex hardware takes development time, board real estate and pushes parts counts up. Complex software only takes development time. Now, to your question about what's going on inside the WM-1 PIC? Sorry, I have no idea. 73! - Keith N1AS - - K2 5411.ssb - -Original Message- It seems that a good amount of the schematic really exists inside the PIC and so, I'm curious. [Elecraft] How does the W-1 work?
Hi Everybody. I just got my W-1 and put it together. It's a KEEPER , works like a champ! I read the manual Page (11) "circuit description" a few times and it seems to make sense. I would like to know what is going on in the little PIC processor. I don't want the code or anything but I sure would like to know what it is doing in general. A flow chart would be nice. I know that it has digital inputs and outputs as well as an analog to digital converter. It seems that a good amount of the schematic really exists inside the PIC and so, I'm curious.
