Fjord Geldings For Sale

The only reason we are selling them is, we intended to use them for a team, but they did not mature to the same height. Both are brown dun, and very quiet and easy to work with. Everyone helping each other and lots of laughfter in the barn, even in the rain and heat. I hope everyone had a great time and lots of wonderful stories and memories to take home. We were pleased that our Stallion Lower Forty Bodil took a Blue in Conformation at the Evaluation, its nice to know where you are in your breeding program. I would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to put on a wouderful evaluation and show. Pinto Fjords
This message is from: Sherle Monheim [EMAIL PROTECTED] While traveling thru Canada, Sask. to be exact last year we visited a Fjord Farm and they had a Quarter Horse Fjord cross and it was a buckskin, black white Pinto. It was a gelding, 2 years old and boy, what a build and it stood 15.2 at 2 years old., but you could not miss the Fjord in the build.

Salt/Mineral Blocks

Her only thrill in life is horseback riding. She has been riding a Quarter Horse gelding, who is now turned 35 years old and they have been told the horse is not long for this world. They are desparately looking for a replacement. They would like it to be a Fjord. They are looking for an aged gelding that is broke, broke, broke to ride. 15 to 20 year range and they are willing to pay something for the fellow. If any of you have or know where there is a gelding like this and would like to see it go to a good home for the rest of its life, please contact me so that I could pass on the information. Re: Clipping for open shows
This message is from: Sherle Monheim [EMAIL PROTECTED] I've been lurking here for the past two days reading about clipping and showing. We took our stallion to about six open shows last fall and the classes were some where between 8 and fourteen, most quarters, saddlebred, morgans. We clipped his muzzle chin hairs, and just the outside edges of the ears. Left the legs and eyes unclipped. He place second in 4 of the shows and 4th in 2 of the shows. The judges knew what kind of a horse he was, but the other people showing couldn't believe where he placed against their well groomed, clipped and oiled fancy horses. So in my opinion, try it and see. Its a lot of fun taking them to open shows and the amount of exposure is wonderful for the breed and your horse. One an 8 year old mare sired by Grabbson, she is in foal to our stallion Lower Forty Bodil and due to foal in two weeks, will sell open or bred back to our stallion. She is a brown dun, not real drafty, stands 14.2 and weighs about 1150. We also have a weanling filly for sale out of our mare Ashwood Mona and sired by our stallion Bodil. She is expected to be 14.2, weigh approx. 1150/1200 when grown, was imprinted at birth and is being handled every day. Can e-mail pictures of either privatly to anyone interested.. Thanks Sherle.
