That did the trick, nearly. My header text, that used to span two rows, now only has the first row displayed and omits the remainder of the header. Even though you set headerWordWrap to true, when a headerRenderer is used those properties are repaced when the renderer is created. Keep in mind, the default item renderer is a Text field. In the HeaderRenderer AS, change the Height (maybe to 40) and the header text should wrap.
