Ciao a tutti,
I am using freevo 1.9.2.b2 on a debian stable.
It works quite well but for a problem viewing photos: it is really slow
and after showing two or three photos freevo xserver crashes always.
Photos are simple familiar photgraphs on on a local directory (the
other media come from nfs exported directories) but opening a directory
with something like 700 photos freevo takes many minutes (but I created
the cache with freevo cache) and after showing two or less photos
freevo dies.
The log shows, waiting for the listing of the directory, many lines like
this
2011-10-30 21:50:40,396 INFO SEGMENT: 0xffe2, len=96
and then freevo often dies without writing anything else!
What would I do?

sounds like a disk failure? try another disk, e.g. the same 700 on a memory
stick...
No, I don't think it would be due to a disk failure because the disc is
working normally for all the other tasks and this happens only trying to
show photos.
Also, I moved the photos from a nfs exported directory thinking the
slowness was nfs-related: using the photos from nfs the problem was the
same.

[Freevo-users] Using multimedia keys from a multimedia keyboard
Ciao a tutti,
I am using freevo with a multimedia keyboard and I would like to use the
dedicated keys to rise and down the volume and so on but I can't
understand the way.
If I try to press the Vol+ keyboard while watching a movie nothing
happens and I see in the main log these lines:

What could I do?

Check what syslog says about it. I usually get a message ther about
unmapped keys. Map it to a know key code and freevo should pick it up.
main*.log does not say anything, that's way I think freevo looks for the
keys in a way I could not understand.

I don't know how it works for freevo (I'm using it as my desktop), but
you might want to try the Zotac fusion350. I've found it to be warmer
than I expected but it still stays below 80°C in my cheap box (with
a 3.5 caviar green drive and no fan, other than the one in the stock
power-supply which is sufficiently quiet that I haven't bothered to
replace it).
I saw this motherboard but I cannot understand what video card it has:
could you help me?
