Re: [Audyssey] MUSHclient
I'm not sure if you can download them separately from the Alter Aeon pack, but the MushReader plugin is incredibly useful. The output window plugin is also very useful if you use a screen reader other than jaws, or don't like to use the jaws cursor. This link should work for getting MushReader: http://www.allinaccess.com/mc/ I'm not sure where you can get the output window plugin without downloading the Alter Aeon soundpack at: www.mush-z.com It's quite large, as in 500 megs or more, so it may not be worth doing unless you plan to actually play Alter Aeon. -- From: "Lora" Sent: Friday, April 05, 2013 05:13 AM To: "'Gamers Discussion list'" Subject: [Audyssey] MUSHclient Hi, I just installed this under Windows 7., All the dialog boxes read well, but when I sign onto the MUSH and do a look, it only reads the room name and not the room description. [Audyssey] Mushclient music and ambience problem still not fixed
This is really address to oriol. The issue I mentioned before about ambience and music in the alter pack of mush being messed up still doesn't seem fixed. Everytime I enter a new area, quite often the volumes of one or other will reset, when i start the game I don't get music, and in some areas like the viking village I don't get ambience. I'm not sure what this is, but I've tried on both machines I own and it happens both ways. i know some people don't really think much to the music and ambience, but I'm a fan of them myself, so if Oriol could look at this that would be great. yes, it's possible to play without, but not with quite the same atmosphere. [Audyssey] mushclient and other games was, to Dark
Hi Jess. I'm afraid You might be getting me confused with someone else. While I have played other muds like medevia and materiamagica, I've done those with vipmud. in fact I'd generally use vipmud by default for most any mud, sinse it is very newby friendly, and has lots of nice features for working with the interface. I just use mush for alterean because of all the work Oriol has done with the soundpack, which turns the game from a mud into virtually an rpg, as well as adding lots of specific hotkeys and such to make the gameplay easier. i don't think i'd use mush for other games though, sinse vip mud I found much more useable generally. that being said, yes, there is a pack for the mud godwars 2. i'm not sure what this is like, or even what you do on godwars sinse I'm having plenty of fun on alter at the moment, but your welcome to try it. Just go to the mush page at http://oriolg.es/mush.php and have a look. Btw, might I suggest in future you use different subject lines than "to dark" here, if you8'd had something about mush, other people would've known what you were looking for. I'm by no means an expert on muds, and people like zack or oriol could probably give you much better answers than me. Beware the Grue! Well personally I like the idea of your own ship much more. You certainly have enough startrek sounds to create convincing cutscenes, all that you need then are some decent voices for the crew and captain, which certainly myself and maybe some other people on list who have sufficiently good recording equipment could help with. Having your own ship also lets you do whatever you want within the various battles or other things going on. for instance, you could have some starting missions patrolling the romulan neutral zone, encountering romulan and Klingon ships, then have the borg show up. That angle was actually hinted at in tng, but never fully explored. Suppose the borg had a tracking base somewhere in the neutral zone gathering information? You could even then have the ship trapped by transwarp conduit while investigating the borg, and end up in the gamma quadrent as well, thus being able to encounter races like the Kaison. Re: [Audyssey] Mushclient scripts?
Hi all, You can get the basic MushReader package, which you can import into any mud from here. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2142080/mushReader.zip Today I'm going to try and release the new alter aeon update and let you guys know. Dark, I wil test this update thoroughly with SAPI and fix the errors that you've reported. I'm sorry I have been away so long, I recently got all of my wisdom teeth pulled and I haven't been in a real good condition. Oriol to explain. Sapi was working fine on my desktop but not on my laptop, I am however currently on my desktop and just trying the thing for the Hal support you mention. Re: [Audyssey] Mushclient crziness!
Alright, here's what you do. You need to have a mushclient.exe in the same folder that you run the updater in. What you can try is reinstall mush-z and then run the updater. if hal doesnt work, then maybe your version isnt uspported, I do't know. if none of this works, just go into plugins, remove mushreader and add tts_sapi.xml maybe this is because it isn't interrupting because mushReader is taking over? It may be very possible. To interrupt sapi you can press the escape key. let me know if it works On 6/27/11, dark wrote: > Okay, I had to go and dig the mushclient.exe file out of the recycle bin, > presumably it should've been replaced by the updater, but not (and the > updater doesn't seem to be working now either). > > I can now run mushclient, but am seeing no changes regarding Hal whatsoever > (though presumably this is because I had to go and grab the old exe file > from the recycle bin and the changes would've been in the new one). > > hope this can be fixed soon. > > Beware the grue! > > DArk. > --- > Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org > If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to > gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. > You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at > http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org. > All messages are archived and can be searched and read at > http://www.mail-archive.com/gamers@audyssey.org. > If you have any questions or concerns regarding the management of the list, > please send E-mail to gamers-ow...@audyssey.org. > --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Hi. After running the update mushclient.exe seems to have vanished. When i try the "play alterean" shortcut (or when trying to open alterean.mcl directly), I get a "windows cannot open this type of file" and when I try just opening mush z, I get a "file not found" message. i've looked in the mushclient folder, but the mushclient.exe file doesn't seem to be there at all! Re: [Audyssey] mushclient question
Hi. Mush client works with vista. You may, however, want to try vipMud too. Mush client is freeware for all it's features and can be made accessible with a little know-how and the right files (and with more know how it can work with almost anything *grins*, where vip mud doesn't allow use of full features until you purchase a 30 dollar license key, but works directly with window-eyes, SAPI, JAWS, and even system access. You can always use vip mud to get started, then switch to mush client when you're ready to really get going or of course purchase vip mud if that's the way you go, of, of course, you could start with mush client as is your idea. Just so you know you have choices. - Original Message - From: "Bryan Mckinnish" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2008 2:01 PM Subject: [Audyssey] mushclient question > Hi everyone. > I have a question. > Does Mushclient work with vista? > I've never tryed mud games before, so I'm up for a little chalenge. *grin* > Also, What are some good muds to start with? > Thanks. > Bryan Mckinnish > > --- > Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org > If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at > http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org. > All messages are archived and can be searched and read at > http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED] > If you have any questions or concerns regarding the management of the > list, > please send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG. > Version: 7.5.524 / Virus Database: 269.23.6/1404 - Release Date: 4/29/2008 > 6:27 PM > > --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org. Hi, It's simple to configure it with jaws. All you've gotta do is add the JFW plugin to it, and you can do most anything with scripting, but I'm not too good at that stuff. Just a note about achaea you can actually set up your aliases in game itself on achaea. with the command setalias for example and following their syntax you can shorten a great many of your commands down that way. - Original Message - From: Jaliya<mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Gamers Discussion list<mailto:gamers@audyssey.org> Sent: Monday, November 12, 2007 10:44 AM Subject: [Audyssey] mushclient speaking behavior Hi everyone: So, I finally broke down and decided that I'd use mushclient. Re: [Audyssey] mushclient speaking behavior
Hey, I have the same problem. The fix is to use insert+s to change jaws from "highlighted" to "none" (just keep hitting insert+s until it says "none"). Game text will now read without the backtracking. This happens, I think, because mushclient likes to not clear the command line on hitting enter; if you type "north" and hit enter, north is sent to the game, then north is highlighted on the command line; you can either type something else and it'll be replaced, or just hit enter again to repeat the last command. You can turn this off in the world properties somewhere, but I'm not sure where; I find it a useful feature for when I want to repeat the same command several times (like in combat). --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org. [Audyssey] MushClient script now available.
For those of you who've requested it, I've now made it publicly accessible. http://www.the-jdh.com/personal/files/mushclient-script.zip - it includes a default MushClient world template, and instructions for the script's implementation. Of note, people not running JFW 8.0 *might* have problems with this script. If they do, let me know. I may have a version of the script compatible with your version of JFW. I've been using this script for a couple years, so it's possible. ___ Gamers mailing list .. [Audyssey] MushClient Plugin Information
Hi all, The place to get the MushClient plugin is: http://www.allinaccess.com Okay guys, now what I love about MushClient is that I can set the JFW plugin to startup on every mud I go on. I don't even have to go to MushClient if I wanted to, just press enter on the XML file, and jaws starts speaking, plus the triggers, etc that you've activated will start up as well when the mud starts. To get that up and running: File, global options, and it should be self-explanatory from there as I don't know what the text exactly says. There is a brows button, and then you go to where you saved the JFW.XML file or whatever you called the JFW Plugin. Also Niko, just wondering what muds you think are good? True, GW2 is boring because it's all combat, well, like most other muds really. Now if we could play BattleTech, that's a very different combat and wouldn't mind playing that mud at all. Anyway. Enjoy MushClient; it's now totally free! ___ Gamers mailing list ..
