IE: ifconfig eth0 ip address route add default gw ip address of your router If this doesn't work see if your network card module is loaded. If it does work does /etc/init.d/net.eth0 start work? If not, check /etc/conf.d/net and /etc/conf.d/rc as suggested elsewhere.
