Re: [hlds] port question

2005-10-19 Thread Ook

I'm assuming you have 3 nics? Each ip address, or I believe more
specifically, each network interface, has it's own set of ports. So, yes,
you can run on 3 different ip addresses, each on the same port.

ok question

can i have 3 different ip addresses and 3 different games running on them
and all are running on port 27015 ?
or would this cause lag?
i have a dual xeon 3 gig and all servers run just fine, im just worried
that i may be screwing up selling 27015 port all the time.

Re: [hlds] Bots causing memory read errors

2005-10-19 Thread Bud Ingram
Okay, so for what it's worth, what I get when I have bots on is the
following crash dialog box:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\HL2Server\srcds.exe

This applicaiton has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way.
Please contact the applicaiton's support team for more information.

Now, I do have *.MDMP files corresponding to times when the system crashes,
but they are empty.

Again I do not have any mods running at this point (I had been running
Beetles mod) has anyone identified a work around after first experiencing
these type of crashes?

Thank you,

Bud Ingram

Hi, I need a simple Admin Plugin. All it needs to do is allow reserved
slots, inable me to give admins map change/kick/ban. I run Plan of
Attack,
Hidden and Hl2dm servers. I would like a plugin that works with all
basic
hl2mods. Nothing fancy. I've tried SAP and SourceMM. Neither work with
all
my mods. Any suggestions/

RE: [hlds] Bots causing memory read errors

2005-10-19 Thread Rick Payton
I run a dedicated 8 player CS:S server with 4 bots running 24/7 ... No
crashes or memory errors here, running under 2003 server (Appliance
edition) as well. P4 2.4 w/ HT, 512mb of ram.

My command line contains the -nocrashdiag switch, though the only thing
I ever hear my regs is bitching about occasional lag.

[hlds] SourceTV's delay limitations

2005-10-19 Thread Drew Hostetler
Both CAL and TWL require a 180 second delay for SourceTV with the
following command:

tv_delay 180

However, when I execute my SourceTV .cfg (which includes this
command), restart the map, and type:

rcon tv_status

it reveals that there is only a 90 second delay. After some testing, I
figured out that I can change the delay from 0 up to 90, but not
anything over 90.

Anybody know what's going on? Is CAL and TWL both just confused as to
the limitations of SourceTV?

Thanks,
Drew

When you use mani - if you only want admins to be able to do a limited
amount of activities, you can disable them all separately in the configs

It really needs 2 versions of the cfg. One thats sorted by version, so
you can update your existing configs when changes are made with a new
release. One version that is sorted by functionality. When its sorted
by functionality (I think there might even be a tool out there to do it
for you) even the 200 config lines is pretty easy to hand - it just
takes a little patience - you don't need to be any kind of genius. When
you get past that it really is extremely simple to run...

With over 200 configuration lines, mani is a new definition of simple I was
previously unaware of.

[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Hi, I need a simple Admin
Plugin. All it needs to do is allow reserved slots, inable me to give admins
map change/kick/ban. I run Plan of Attack, Hidden and Hl2dm servers. I would
like a plugin that works with all basic hl2mods. Nothing fancy. I've tried
SAP and SourceMM. Neither work with all my mods. Any suggestions/ Thanks,
Scott

take a look at mosca's plugin, it's pretty simple. i don't know whether it
works with other mods than cs:s, though.

Re: [hlds] I need a simple Admin plugin

2005-10-19 Thread Jim

I am running reserve slots using mani and not an issue... are you sure you
configured the reserve slot +1 greater than the number playing on the
server. And are you allowing the reserve slot to fill or only a slot to
enter and then move into one of the other slots? Of course players not in
the reserve list will when the server fills be kicked or even can be routed
to another server.

16 slots + 1 for the reserve, I currently run. The reserve slot is there
but I do not allow it to fill. It is only a slot to enter and then the
player is seated to one of the 16 slots.

Yes, mani, xphan, sap and sourcemm. Mani sort of works for somethings, but
not reserved slots. And its got a ton of things in it I would never use.

I put jim in charge of moderating the sprays of our thousands of unique
STEAM ID's

Why not simply NOT allow uploads of sprays directly to the Server. But
allow Sprays to download after prior approval. Set up a area where people
can send Sprays for Preview prior to loading on Server. Enough said... As
long as someone out there wants Porn as a Spray... they will surely find
a
server that does not block it...

I do have a couple kids playing on my Server and some of thier parents
have
talk to me. They realize I actively Ban any and all Porn Sprayers.. and
they respect the fact Porn is an automatic BAN, I do check, more work but
try to maintain a clean server.

So the Parents do not hold me accountable for what someone else does
They respect the fact I do take an action to eliminate it..

Thoughts on the Matter...
