Don't run their maps. If you want to be safe, simply open the map in wordpad and look for "rcon_password", if you see shenanigans, delete the map. We have 3 TF2 servers running on Win2003 dedicated with a gameserver companywe have had several crashes today. One crash was noted when turning on tourney mode during a match. All servers have been restarted 4 times. Any ideas? Hey, A lot of people had this issue a few weeks back. It seems if the server loses contact with steam it can't determine if players are allowed to use the weapons and denies everybody. I would make sure your servers are indeed fully connecting to steam (make sure the status command reports secure mode), check your firewall, etc. If a fresh server doesn't work for you, I would guess firewall/routing connectivity issues, though someone (Valve) will have to clarify how/over what connection the server gets this information, I'm not entirely sure :-/ - Neph On Thu, May 22, 2008 at 3:29 PM, Robert Whelan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > 1. I didn't notice that if I remove "read only" from my client config.cfg I do switch weapons immediately. I saw this happen last week. I kept trying to load a new weapon though when I hopped back into the game it didn't show the new selection. I killed myself and respawned.. the new weapon was there. I was on by myself testing so I couldn't tell if it was just a skin/model issue or what. Since I restarted the server after last update I've already dropped from 1547MB memory free to 935MB. I don't get a lot of traffic at the beginning of the week though so this is lower then typical. I usually only restart once a week, but the important thing is I'm not seeing any real difference from what I typically see. I'll run a test with CSS SRCDS with a full complement of bots and see if a leak is more obvious.
