[hlds_linux] TF2 PayLoad

2008-05-06 Thread Mark Chandler

Hey Jason,

Just wanted to ask a couple of questions about tf2 payload game type. I have
made pl_dustbowl and in the second stage I have a choice between which path
to moth the train along. Now this works fine except for two things. When
changing the path it screws up the hud display down the bottom, and when
going backwards (after the two paths) thee train goes berserk and runs of in
a random direction. Any chance that you guys could add a fix for theses
because im sure im not the only one who wants to use multi paths for it.

You can download the pl_dustbowl from
http://lodle.net/tf2_maps/maps/pl_dustbowl_a05.bsp.bz2 so you can see for
yourself.

On another note, I was wondering if you could tell me who the first person
to use the achievement exploit was (steam account lodle). I used it at 12pm
(GMT +8) on Wednesday and told two other people about it. Then when I got
home from work (5 hours latter) it was everywhere. Hope that I didn't cause
all the trouble over it.

When they delete it they get a new Steam cookie. That's whats
disconnecting them is they are not authenticating with the one they have

This is exactly what i'm, and other people trying to say to you. Your
server wont auth everyone at once, because it would cause a massive lag
spike. They have to do this to get another user ticket from steams auth
servers.

it happens 5-10 times a day. people play for one or two hours and then

if the rejoin, they can play until all players are disconnected again.
according to your theory all players loose their auth in the same moment.

[hlds_linux] TF2 medics overpowered with 'uberchain' after medic updates

2008-05-06 Thread Saint K.
Hi,

Is there anything VALVe is going to do about the uberchains?

Its basicly a tactic were one medic ubers the other, and that medic
recharges his uber by bonesawing people with their ubersaw. As soon as the
uber runs out, the medics switch, and do the same trick over and over
again... It basicly gives 2 medics godmode and a saw...

If he doesn't want to help his users, then he doesn't have to suggest this

Re: [hlds_linux] Steam Server-browser IP sort?

2008-05-06 Thread Marcel
Timo Hilbertz schrieb:
according to valve, the ingame server browser searches in both

Hmmm, the server browser doesn't seem to work like this. I changed the
IP of the gameserver to 78.x.x.x and it still takes ages until it can be
found in the server browser (at the moment I've a 93.x.x.x IP as client).
It's a really bad thing...

Is there any official word from valve?

So I would guess that they will disable to earn über when you are uebered.

Honestly... sometimes I think that they don't really test this.. how many
features where removed or changed because they didn't like it but where
useful... like the multiple über.. and how many new feature are being
brought up which are more game damaging?

Also I find that all this achievement hunting is killing the game.. I
really start hating bonesawing medics and even better playing on servers
where are medic restrictions... so you end up with 3 medics but nobody is
healing correctly because they want their achievements.. ;-(

 Wrong place I now...

LOL, when the Ubersaw was announced, I started a thread almost instantly
about this very thing. It was closed before too many responses came in.
 ;)

A Demoman trained in the art of Uber prevention should be able to help
 you

   Hi,

Is there anything VALVe is going to do about the uberchains?

Its basicly a tactic were one medic ubers the other, and that medic
recharges his uber by bonesawing people with their ubersaw. As soon as
 the
uber runs out, the medics switch, and do the same trick over and over
again... It basicly gives 2 medics godmode and a saw...

[hlds_linux] Unable to use unlockable medic weapons

2008-05-06 Thread Patrick O
Hey,
No players on my server are able to use their unlockable weapons, it
started happening when the community server went down earlier today.
Is there any way to fix this problem without restarting the server?

Thanks
