Re: [hlds_linux] Segmentation Fault by steam-update
An Intel(R) Celeron(TM) CPU 1200MHz is running on the server. The beta is working fine and fixes the problems. [hlds_linux] Binaries in update permuted? this works!
I found the solution in another forum! The amd and i486 binaries are permuted. Moving srcds_amd to srcds_i486 and all works fine. [hlds_linux] No master servers, no ports.. Whats wrong with this update?
After hours of deleting, reinstalling and so on, the update tool seems now to work without a segmentation fault. But starting the server works not correctly. It does not connect to the masterservers and the port is not seen (seems as the server doesnt create a socket, cannot connect and cannot find a port with nmap). Thats all what I see on the console: Auto detecting CPU Using default binary. Auto-restarting the server on crash Console initialized. Attempted to create unknown entity type event_queue_saveload_proxy! [hlds_linux] Segmentation Fault by steam-update
Mmh, thats a bad joke with this update. I tested some older kernels, upgraded to newest and verified that the correct glibc is on the server. No chance to get the steam-update to run without a segmentation fault. A segmentation fault is as a I now, if a pointer points to invalid memory. That seems as a programming mistake and not a mistake with a wrong kernel-version. The solution is, to become the updated server-files from another source as with this tool. Is there a place where I can download this sever-fils manually? Because the server is too old for the new client update, I can only cross my fingers that the next days a new steam version is released which fix this problem. -- Frank Arnold _ The 4damind Project at http://4damind.com Arnisoft at http://arnisoft.com Phone: +49 30 47472330 Mobile: +49 0172 3121383 eMail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
Re: [hlds_linux] Segmentation Fault by steam-update
It works perfect before the update. Can be it make sense to upgrade to a newer kernel? Mmh... [hlds_linux] Segmentation Fault by steam-update
Linux 2.6.13 Debian ./steam -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir /usr/cstrike/ results with a "Checking bootstrapper version ... Segmentation fault " Connecting to the old server brings a "server to old" in the client. So the server must be updatet. This time its a show-stopper, and CS is not playable. Can be that has something todo wiht a newer glibc? -- Frank Arnold _ The 4damind Project at http://4damind.com Arnisoft at http://arnisoft.com Phone: +49 30 47472330 Mobile: +49 0172 3121383 eMail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
