Yeah. I guess I would have to agree here. VAC disabled all the 3rd party alternatives on it's inception (almost). Those were people volunteering their time and making updates fairly regularly. I don't hate VAC, but clearly the update frequency is far short of the anti-cheats it no longer allows. It's good to see CD come back. I'm not sure I want to use it yet, but we'll see. Valve, I think even if there is a small update for a single cheat, VAC should be updated. If your waiting to nail 10 at a time (I don't know that they are), it doesn't work well in the mean time for us, or possibly even overall. -- - m0gely http://quake2.telestream.com/ Q2 | Q3A | Counter-strike ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
Re: [hlds_linux] Valve: THANK YOU; Valve Haters: WOW, Quit Your Bitching!
Uhm, Valve was responsible for the C-D projects death. Since VAC has let us down, I think we have every right to complain. Valve isn't some charity giving away free software you realize, they are a company making money off us. So I think we have every right to complain, although complaints regardless of their legitimacy should be constructed and directed in as professional manner as possible... Honestly, because of VAC we all suffer. Thank GOD UA picked up C-D and we now again have an alternative. I'll pat Valve on the back when they let an outside entity handle their anti-cheat as clearly they are not capable of doing an effective job for probably a variety of reasons (other projects?!). If the community was doing a fine job, why not just let it continue, or give them the code they need to make it better. james - Original Message - From: "Brad Schulteis" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "HLDS" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, February 22, 2003 12:49 AM Subject: [hlds_linux] Valve: THANK YOU; Valve Haters: WOW, Quit Your Bitching! > Like the subject says, QUIT YOUR BITCHING!
