Hi Arianna,

In my opinion, the easiest way to set the default synthesizer, is to
reinstall JAWS, and selected the guided installation.

In the guided installation, you can select your default synthesizer.

Best wishes,
 Aran.

[JAWS-Users] Re: DecTalk Access32 as default synthesizer

2007-03-03 Thread Denny Huff

Then you should be able to just move it to the number 1 position.
Make sure it is exactly as it appears in whatever position it is now.
I don't remember what the driver name for dec access is, or I would give you
a better answer.
It should look something like this:
Synth1Name=decaccess
Synth1LongName=DecAccess32Software
Synth1Driver=decaccess

Again, I am not sure what the driver name for Dec Access is, but since it is
already listed in your .ini file, then it shouldn't be a problem for you.
I would make a backup copy of your jfw.ini file before you modify it.

Yes, Denny, Dec Access32 is in the jfw.ini file including the long name and
the driver.

Does your Dec Access 32 show up in your JFW.ini file as one of the

I can use it, too, Matt. The problem is that I don't know how to get it to
automatically load when JAWS comes up. I think some kind of load command
needs to be put into a .ini file or something like that, but I can't seem to
get an answer from anyone on the list about this.

I have DecTalk access 32 installed and I've used it as a default synth and
its worked fine. I have the software version though, I'm not sure if a

Hi Arianna,
I would have to check further, but as far as I know the Access 32 from G W
Micro will not work with Jaws.
If you do get it installed, the best you can do is this:
1. go into the Jaws default configuration manager and then synthesizer
options.
2. if the Deck talk shows up there, then select it as your default, then
close the dialogue, and save your settings when leaving the configuration
manager.
3. re-boot the computer, and see what happens.
If you need more assistance, let us know.

[JAWS-Users] Re: DecTalk Access32 as default synthesizer

2007-03-03 Thread Robert S. Batchelor

I was wondering why it is taking 2-3 days for my post to go from me to the
list. I was trying to add to threads in a timely manner and my replies
weren't getting into the thread for a couple of days.

I contacted Google about this and found out the owner has the ability to
moderate the contents added or with held from the list.

Is that what is happening here? Is that why my posts and replies are not
coming into the thread for 2-3 days? Is that why *some* of mine haven't
made it to the list?

Hi Arianna,

In my opinion, the easiest way to set the default synthesizer, is to
reinstall JAWS, and selected the guided installation.

In the guided installation, you can select your default synthesizer.

Best wishes,

If it is from
GW Micro, then it probably won't work with Jaws. You will need to purchase
the one from Freedom Scientific for it to work properly.
At least this is the way it used to be and I assume it still is.

I asked this question earlier in the week about using DecTalk Access32 as
 my
default synth. David recommended that I look on the JAWS users site for
setting up a default synth, but that didn't solve my problem.

Dec Access32 needs to be loaded and I need to know how I set this up so
 that
it will happen automatically when I start JAWS. I hope this is clear
 enough
for someone to give me an answer. Do I need to put something in the .ini
file or how do I get Dec Access32 to come up as the JAWS synth?

[JAWS-Users] Re: DecTalk Access32 as default synthesizer

2007-03-02 Thread Payment Center

Hi Arianna,

In my opinion, the easiest way to set the default synthesizer, is to
reinstall JAWS, and selected the guided installation.

In the guided installation, you can select your default synthesizer.

Best wishes,
 Aran.

Yes, it is the one from GW Micro.

[JAWS-Users] Re: DecTalk Access32 as default synthesizer

2007-03-02 Thread Ricque

Hi Arianna,
I would have to check further, but as far as I know the Access 32 from G W
Micro will not work with Jaws.
If you do get it installed, the best you can do is this:
1. go into the Jaws default configuration manager and then synthesizer
options.
2. if the Deck talk shows up there, then select it as your default, then
close the dialogue, and save your settings when leaving the configuration
manager.
3. re-boot the computer, and see what happens.
If you need more assistance, let us know.
HTH,
