Re: [JAWS-Users] typing program with jaws
TTT is at www.marvelsoft.com It costs about $100 as compared to Talking Typer from APH which is much more expensive. I used TTT with my students in the public schools and they loved it! Also, my adult consumers enjoy it a lot as well. I cannot recommend this one high enough. Kenneth; The typing program that was suggested by Denny Huff is also pretty cool. You can try it for free by downloading it off their web site. Their website is www.yesaccessible.com . It is called Typeability. I downloaded it this afternoon to try it, and I liked it a lot. - Original Message - From: "Kenneth Suratt" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Saturday, October 20, 2007 5:22 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] typing program with jaws where can I get these programs - Original Message - From: "Mike & Barbara Brunner" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Saturday, October 20, 2007 10:31 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] typing program with jaws >I have been using Talking Typing Teacher for a few years now. it is a very > good program and enjoy it very much. Re: [JAWS-Users] typing program with jaws
I have been using Talking Typing Teacher for a few years now. it is a very good program and enjoy it very much. Talking Typer by American Printing House is another good typing program. I use both but, the new Scan Soft voices in APH's program throw me off when listening to sentences , the pronunciation isn't very good for me, anyways. Good luck. Re: [JAWS-Users] OmniPage Pro 16
Folks, I have no problem keeping this topic on list. I did not think there was any interest because in my previous two posts about the program before I purchased and returned it no one responded to my posts. If discussions are helpful to the group here then by all means I think it should stay too. Here are my initial reactions to the updated version (16): Some of the install screens, especially the custom option, are tough but doable (have to use the JAWS cursor some) All of the topics under the help pull down (with exception of the "about" choice will not read with any of the cursors . They must be graphics base or something. My biggest complaint is in previous versions once a document was scanned the OCR proofreading screen came up. You could then simply hit escape or use it to correct issues. Once this was done the scanned document was on the screen and JAWS would read it just like a Word document with all standard reading keys. In version 16 this does not work You either have to use the JAWS cursor and then hear things you don't want or go the view menu and play with settings such as true page view, plain text, etc. JAWS with then read the document okay but the next scan or anything you have to mess around with settings to get it to read. This would not be bad if you only occasionally scanned something but if you do a lot of scanning and are in a hurry to hear something its a pain. On the plus side it does load quicker and scans much faster. I sent the product back for a refund and reinstalled my version 15 which I have no problem with and works fine. Oh yes and before someone asks, I tried version 16 with JAWS version 8 and 9 both of which behave exactly the same. comments? thanks Al -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of David A Ferrin Sent: Saturday, October 20, 2007 9:37 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] OmniPage Pro 16 What he said, I like having a hit man from Ohio on the job. Hi Lennie, I can speak for both myself and David on this matter. Yes, the subject is on-topic for the list, and it would be great if those involved in it would keep it on list for the benefit of the membership. However, anyone is free at any time to take a discussion off-list. Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem with outlook express! ( Please Help).
Mamta, There have been updates to that version of JAWS 8 that you have installed. I suggest that you go to the JAWS window and open the Help Menu. In that menu, press enter on the item "Check for Updates". It should find the update (build 2173) and install it for you automatically. If you are still having the problem, a call to the Freedom Scientifc support should be able to sort it out. Re: [JAWS-Users] OmniPage Pro 16
Hi, I am currently using OmniPage 15 and I was interested in the new version, but I did not upgrade at this time. Since this topic has to due with Jaws and OmniPage 16, I think that this topic should remain on the list so we all may know if it is really accessible or not. (David, I hope that you agree with me?)
