hi, the jFW update had some bad issues in it . They now have a update to the update. But you have to call them and they have to give you a special code to put it in in order to get the update. I called today to see if they had one or when it would be comeing out and the man gave me a special code to get the .37 version. Hi, are you using the updated version of jfw14? If so I would revert back to the older version till they get the update fix! They are having problems with the update for a lot of people with the insert and f keys and don't know what all else . They have blocked the updater to Jfw with in Jfw for updating Jfw. I also think they have blocked the site from downloading the update of Jfw. I hear they will have it fix the update sometime next week. I had to revert back myself and know lots of people that did the same. This is a preface and you can do it or not! Some don't do login at the login screen they just choose to start JFW after login! This does make a quicker login. But you have to be able to know when windows come up and you need site or listen to your computer very closely. Or just give a count and if nothing is wrong then if you have it setup for ctrl Alt delete then you can do this and put in your password. Or a another choice is just not to have a login password. Then you know when windows come up. Hi, your video driver is there it is just that JFW is not picking it up. Now since this is happening you will need to use another screen reader to help you out . So you can use NVDA or Narrator to help you out. You need to click on JFW14 on your desktop and then go to utilities and then video intercept manager and pick a video . Since JFW does not have a video driver yet it more than likely is not speaking or at least not very much. So this is where the other screen reader comes in handy. Another way is to try to do a JFW repair or just uninstall JFW and try reinstalling it and see if it picks up the video. Also If you do a repair I would restart the PC before trying the uninstall and see if JFW works like it is supposed to. Then if it does not you can do a uninstall and then restart the PC after that and then reinstall and then after the reinstall restart the PC and then see what happens. If none of this works you will need to contact FS and get help. [JAWS-Users] JFW and Windows Surface Pro
Hi, I was interested in if anyone had heard or used the windows surface pro with JFW? If so does JFW run ok on it? I know touch would not work but using the keyboard would be enough for me! I understand that the windows surface pro will run any desktop application/program that would run on a regular W8 computer. I understand you have to live in the desktop part of the windows surface pro for desktop application to work. So this makes me think that JFW would work just fine on the windows surface pro with using the keyboard with it. I also hear rumors that JFW15 might have touch built into it? I think I would really like to have a windows surface pro but it would help if I knew for sure JFW would work on it. Thanks for any input! I understand you have to live in the desktop part of the windows surface pro for desktop application to work. So this makes me think that JFW would work just fine on the windows surface pro with using the keyboard with it. I also hear rumors that JFW15 might have touch built into it?
