Re: [JOYnet] May Grace be with you all
Dear friends in Christ, I strongly support what James said. Topic 1: -- If I don't quote the word of God, then what is it for? Rather than writing long messages dumping once own thoughts, biased by many media (esp books), it is meaning full to quote just one word from Bible. Nothing is out of context if you have the will to accept word of God. If any one says quoting word of God should be avoided, that is a worldly advise, not from God. Even Satan used word of God to test Jesus. Not the word of God is wrong, but the way you comprehend is wrong. That is the difference in Jesus and Satan! The same in the parable of the sower. Not the Word, but the place where it fell makes the difference. But, be considerative! Please use it wisely, not to hurt anyone. However, if want to use it to correct someone (even if it hurts), like what Jesus did in Jerusalem Temple, you can still use His Words. Remember today's (11th) first reading. "Thus says the Lord: Just as from the heavens the rain and snow come down And do not return there till they have watered the earth, making it fertile and fruitful, Giving seed to the one who sows and bread to the one who eats, So shall my WORD be that goes forth from my mouth; It shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it. " Topic 2 - I also appreciate James as he said "Any Spousal relationship (Acts, Thoughts, Words) with anyone (even with the same bride/groom) in mind/body PRIOR to marriage which is against GOD'S Love is hence clearly a Sin". Although I withdrew myself from this topic after a lot of critics, I still advice you to accept this statement. If you accept the word of God, you will accept that pre-marital spousal relationship (Acts, Thoughts, Words) as a SIN. Please don't get biased by the Media and worldly advises. Set your rules from meaning of the word of God. Summary --- I remember a calculation that proved ZERO=ONE. Calculation is perfectly correct and proved, yet the truth is different. Remember that Jesus kept quite when Pilot asked "What is truth?" (John 18:38). Why? It is a wasting time! Roman Pilot doesn't posses The word of God or any knowledge about His Heavenly Kingdom. You can only see the truth if your "eyes of heart" are enlightened (Eph 1:18) by the God, the word (John 1:1) with lots of love and prayers Wilson Thomas (Singapore) - Original Message - From: "JAMES SIMON" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, March 11, 2003 12:06 AM Subject: [JOYnet] May Grace be with you all > All Scripture is inspired by GOD and is USEFUL FOR TEACHING, REFUTING ERROR, FOR CORRECTING AND TRAINING IN CHRISTIAN LIFE. [JOYnet] LENT & CHOICES
Dear Friends, God has created every one of us with a very beautiful capacity / ability : to freely choose. And, if we closely examine, it can be seen that human life is the sum total of all the choises that one makes; small and big. Deuteronomy 30:15-20 gives a very clear teaching on this capacity for choice. The Lord asks each and every one to make this choice very deligently and conscieously. God does not compell us for anything. It is the greatest gift that God endows each one of us with - freedom: "Freedom to be and freedom to do". So the choices that we make are very crucial. Read the call to discipleship (Lk.9:22-25) in the light of this gift and responsibility of freedom. The Lord is not compeling but offering to fallow him. He does not hide any of the risks involved. Then He asks to make the choice. Just take our life of a day and analyse it, and we will see how many choices we make. In all that we do there is involved a choice. But are we trined to make all those choices by default, according to the will of God. Sometimes when we are about to make some major decission we may spent more time in prayer and meditation for the wisdom of God, which is good. But the same process has to happen in every little decisions of our daily life. It needs much training & practice; even daily evaluation of all the choices that we made to see if they were truly motivated by the love of God. Please take both the above mentioned passages and put them together and meditate for 15 minutes on the basis of these thoughts. What are my choices?, what are the basis of my choices? Have a blessed Lent. To be contd... Fr. Thomas Tharayil USA is available at Shalom Publications.May God bless you All-Sajith Antony(Bangalore) Catch all the cricket action. Re: [JOYnet] Faith - Do you believe this a miracle?
He had repaired my mobile also. It was about 2 years ago. It fell down to a bucket of water and went off. I tried to on it, in vein. then I prayed for a minute, even though as a test, to make it on. it worked!,but only the power switch, to make it on/off. the next day the cell become all right. one year ago when I checked it for one other problem, they reminded me of that incident. they told me [it is a nonspiritual information] " if we happened to drop a cell phone in water,do not attempt to on it,keep the battery dismantled" dr.jomon, angamaly +-+-+- Original Message - From: Prejomy Jose To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, March 09, 2003 3:43 PM Subject: [JOYnet] Faith - Do you believe this a miracle? Dear friends, Do you think Jesus is a Mobile phone technician? I do. Mark 11:23 says; I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, Go throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Around 2 months ago, my mobile phone fell down to the ground and then onwards it was not producing any sound for ringing, alarm etc. I took it to a technician (I lost its warranty card somewhere) and he told me that some of its parts were damaged and it will cost Dirhams 60/- (approx. Rs 750/-) to repair it. As I could talk & hear and the call could be alert by vibration, I thought I will use the same for a while and would purchase a new one rather than repairing it. However, I told to Jesus, Yaar, I want to see a miracle. Nothing is impossible for you. You do the repair and make the phone working properly. Other than this, Ive not made any other prayers or much concerned about the phone for the past 2 months. But I believed strongly that Jesus will do the repair on my phone. I dont know from where I got that much of faith (of course, from Holy Spirit, ha ha ha). 2 days back, I got a call and to my surprise, the phone is ringing. Now my phone is working absolutely alright. I meditated on this incident and got the above said words (Mk 11:23). I realized why Jesus told this if anyone SAYS TO THIS MOUNTAIN, Go throw YOURSELF into the sea - that miracles can happen not only in living things but also in non living substances. I am sure that Im not giving a false testimony. [JOYnet] Thanks for praying for Jessy
Dear Joynetters, PRAISE JESUS KING! Thanks for praying for Jessy. The Lord has blessed Nelson & Jessy with a boy baby. The weight of the baby - 2.75 kgs. Both Jessy and the baby are doing fine. The baby is very active and doing the normal chores. For the sake of observation and also to avoid infection because of visitors, they have kept the baby in incubator. Every 2 hours the baby is taken for feeding. Actually, for the first-two children, Jessy could not even feed them. But this time, the Lord has heard the prayers of so many people who were praying for Jessy. Once again thanking all the Joynetters for their prayers and a special thank you for all those who had mailed me assuring of their prayers. I have one more prayer request. We are expecting our 2nd baby within 10 days. The due date for my wife Leena is 18th March. Pray that the Lord may bless Leena with normal delivery and healthy baby and also that the Lord prepares our son Jeffrey (4 1/2 years old) to receive the new person who is coming into this world. All Scripture is inspired by GOD and is USEFUL FOR TEACHING, REFUTING ERROR, FOR CORRECTING AND TRAINING IN CHRISTIAN LIFE. Through Scripture the man of GOD is made expert and thoroughly equipped for EVERY GOOD WORK. 2 Tim. 3: 16, 17. Dear joynetters, First of all Thanks for the mail, and special thanks for the Critics. Directly coming to the point, Mt. 22: 37-40 ; Jn. 13: 34 ; Jn. 15: 13 - in my message I begin with these Words of GOD These verses are the instructions, commands given by the GOOD LORD about how to love your fellow beings, which includes all human beings. 1Cor. 13: 4-8 is about what is LOVE the definition given by GOOD LORD. Psychiatrists, psychologists, Philosophers, Social workers, more clearly every human may have different view points regarding LOVE, they may describe different types most of which are defining, touching the EXTERNAL aspect of LOVE. But being a Christian, a child of GOD, What is LOVE, that is what these verses explicates. In this time and ages, every one especially youngsters are thirsting for, running for, searching For LOVE, even without knowing what is LOVE, and falling in the Devils trap erroneous Love, relations. Every one is interested more on what world says, text book says, studies says about Love Easily rejecting what GOOD LORD, JESUS TEACHES about LOVE, who is the ONLY ONE WHO DESERVES to give a definition of LOVE, who consecrated HIS LIFE FOR SAVING THE WHOLE MANKIND. Mt. 5:28 - is about what is adultery, which strongly confirms the so-called affairs as that is depicted in films, novels etc, in other words what the youngsters thought of is against GODS LAW. Mt. 19: 6 which confirms that it is GOD, THE CREATOR is giving (selecting, choosing) a life partner for each person, which is a life long relationship, which should not be separated. 1Thes. 4: 3-8 again points out the importance chastity, and avoiding lustful passion when acquiring a wife. Mk. 12: 29, 30 is about the giving the prime position in the life to GOD. 1Jn. 4:18 IS ABOUT trusting in GODS LOVE, Power especially when we dealing others, by knowing what is PERFECT Love and imitating JESUS DRIVING OUT ALL FEARS. In other words, choosing perfect Love, after knowing what is perfect Love and rejecting imperfect love. Rom. 13: 8-10 also says not to fear Loving your neighbor. I dont think that any of these words of GOD is out of topic. Dear friend, if you think so please point out, clarify it. I think joynet is a group, and each may have different opinion, and each have RIGHT to present their opinion in their own way, style which should not be be discouraged, unless it crosses the limit. (There are certain reasons for the delay of my previous posting.) Autocratic decision to start or stop a topic or discussion should be avoided. Of course, officials in charge can take decision, that we have to obey, but such decisions should be \'circulated\' with designation of the official. A Child of GOD Should not fear any thing any topic or discussion.(Rom. 8: 14- 17) If some are not interested in certain topics, better they dont open or read such mails, their may others who may be interested to clear doubts or discuss. Super imposing of ideas should be better avoided. Words of GOD (Heb. 4: 12) is so powerful and able to change human lives and should be used quoted whenever we get a chance, since joynet is a group intended for spiritual growth. And these words of GOD is not just to read and learnt by heart, but to put into practical life, Every day life. Once again Thanks for the mail. May Grace be with you all! [JOYnet] A Lent Gift
My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ,Its after a long time that Im writing to this beautiful mailing list. It is very nice see a lot of new faces in this group. The sharing from Joson was really touching one and we are all called for that. Lets all pray to our LORD to give us the strength and courage to help the needy because without him we cant do anything. Im writing this mail with a special intention. Let me introduce the very famous bookThe Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christto all of you. This book is based on the Meditations of Anne Catherine Emmerich.I came across this book through shalom publications (www.shalomprayer.org).Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich was an Augustian nun who lived in Germany. She lived between 1774 to 1824. During her life, God gave her extensive visions of the past, the present and the future. Many theologians believe that she received from God more visions than any other saint. The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ! are the visions of Anne Catherine Emmerich concerning the Last Supper, the Agony in the Garden, the Arrest, the Scourging, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. They are highly detailed and highly descriptive revealing to us more information about the Life of Jesus Christ besides what we read of Him in the Bible. This is a very good book to read and meditate in this Lent Season. Some of you might have already read this book. You cant read it without tearsbut remember we are not supposed to cry for himbut we have to cry before him for our sins. The online version of this book is available athttp://www.emmerich1.com/DOLOROUS_PASSION_OF_OUR_LORD_JESUS_CHRIST.htmA pdf version is available atwww.catholicplanet.com/ebooks/Dolorous-Passion.pdfMalayalam version is available at Shalom Publications.May God bless you All-Sajith Antony(Bangalore) Catch all the cricket action. Hi All, An interesting thoughtthis was the gist of a homily I heard recently. ''There is not much generosity in helping those who deserve help. That is your duty. Geneoristy is in helping those who don't deserve help''. So friends, be generous and help out all those who seek your help whether they deserve it or not. Don't wait your whole life searching for deserving people to show generosity.
