Are you forcing everything to run in a sandbox or > something? It very much sounds like the config file where these changes get > saved isn't being written to as expected. These, in Gentoo, are used to configure the compiler flags for the specific application. They are called use flags. If they aren't prefixed with "-", then it's options that it's compiled with. "-" implies that it's been disabled at compile time. So, for example, if i set "-lock" on KWin, it compiles with -DKWIN_BUILD_SCREENLOCKER=no. As for sandboxing, the only thing sandboxed is the compilation process. This prevents malicious code from executing (such as downloading things from the internet). After compilation, it gets thrown in the standard path, and it runs unsandboxed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482520 Bug ID: 482520 Summary: Audio devices can have their configurations broken through the config Classification: Plasma Product: plasma-pa Version: 6.0.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: mashkal2...@gmail.com CC: isma...@gmail.com, m...@ratijas.tk, now...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When clicking some profiles in the "show additional options" menu for audio devices, they can be configured such that they: 1) disappear from the audio applet, requiring reconfiguration in the sound system settings page 2) disappear from both the audio applet and sound system settings page, requiring reconfiguration in something like pavucontrol. Specifically, I think the issue stems from the fact that some profiles completely remove the audio device from the menu, preventing the change from being reverted. Some profiles also add items to the menu, and there is no indication about which ones add and remove items from the menu. When a device is disabled - point 2) above - there is no indication why and how to re-enable it. Filing this as minor because I think it's a usability issue rather than just a wishlist item. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482347 --- Comment #4 from Nate Graham --- (In reply to Douglas Beach from comment #3) > Ok... what's the use case for having the wallpaper change? It's simply a side effect of having the underlying desktop move over to the new primary screen. The desktop has icons, a panel, a wallpaper, etc. So the wallpaper simply comes along for the ride. > Or to turn that > around, how can I configure my laptop so that I don't have to change my > wallpaper every time I plug in my external monitor? Use the same wallpaper on both the laptop screen and the external screen. >I don't feel like it's > especially niche to have a laptop that's sometimes does not have the > built-in screen as the primary. Not niche at all; I and many others do it too. The current UX of moving the entire desktop (wallpaper included) to the new primary screen is something many people asked for, and is much much simpler and more comprehensible than what we had before. Overall it's been well-received since we introduced it a year and a half ago in Plasma 5.27 (or was it 5.26? I forget. But as you observed, this isn't new to 6.0). > On the flip side I'm struggling to figure > out why anyone would *ever* want a screen's wallpaper to change unless he > changed it directly. I'm afraid so far you're the first person I'm aware of to complain about the wallpaper specifically. So far no one else has called this specific thing out as a problem, independent of everything else that gets moved over when you switch which screen is primary. So while I'm sympathetic to the fact that this isn't what you expected, I think it would be a good idea to see if you can learn to accept it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

After the nintendo's take down of the yuzu and citra emulators? The apps are no longer listed on flathub, but are still installed on my local machine. For some reason discover says they are not installed and asks me if I want to remove the left over files, but it also shows the launch button because the app is installed. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Download an app that is no longer listed on flathub. At the time of writing you can still install yuzu and citra using flatpak cli. The apps just aren't listed on flathub. 2. Once you have a delisted app installed. Open discover and go to the installed apps section. 3. Search for the delisted app from withing the installed apps section. 4. Click on the app to take you to its page. OBSERVED RESULT Discover says the app isn't installed and prompts you to remove its files. [krita] [Bug 482514] New: Gradient start and stop does not evenly gradient across all channels when alpha is involved
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482514 Bug ID: 482514 Summary: Gradient start and stop does not evenly gradient across all channels when alpha is involved Classification: Applications Product: krita Version: 5.2.1 Platform: Compiled Sources OS: All Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Brush engines Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: madmr...@outlook.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY In the game engine that I contribute images to, the way light sources render through objects relies on the alpha channel as well as the RGB values to determine strength of the light. I'm using Krita to author my images but other people are using PS and GIMP which does not have this issue. The issue is that a gradient start and stop going from a solid color to a fully transparent value is ONLY doing a gradient on alpha values, it isn't affecting the RGB values. This is wrong in that the value of a gradient is more than alpha value. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. New Image (RGB/Alpha 8 bit) 2. New Gradient Fill. Use custom colors for the start and end stops 3. Stop 1 should be ARGB 167, 167, 167, 167 (or #a7a7a7 with alpha value of 65.49%) 4. Stop 2 should be ARGB 0, 0, 0, 0 (#00 with alpha value of 0%) 5. Using Gradient brush radial gradient, draw a large enough spot from center of canvas out (about the size of a tennis ball) 6. Using the color sampler tool, sample the gradient from center outwards (make sure you can see the color sampler tool output with the channel values all listed) OBSERVED RESULT Only the Alpha value is being changed in the gradient, even though I specified going from "grey" to "black" as well EXPECTED RESULT Like PS and GIMP I would expect an even distribution of all channels + Alpha going from 167 to 0. This makes it impossible for me to easily create images for this game engine which needs all channel information to correctly be used. In addition, the gradient itself is just not the same. I should note that I set the splash screen to None because the splash screen was being shown for about 20 s even though the desktop took around 5 s to load completely as I reported at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=479824 I don't know if that might be involved. [krita] [Bug 482512] New: Erasing portions of a layer is not clearing out the RGB data, only updates the transparency mask
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482512 Bug ID: 482512 Summary: Erasing portions of a layer is not clearing out the RGB data, only updates the transparency mask Classification: Applications Product: krita Version: 5.2.1 Platform: Compiled Sources OS: All Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Brush engines Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: madmr...@outlook.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY tldr: the eraser tool doesn't clear the RGB channels when using it. I'm working with a game engine which expects the alpha channel to be correct, even when viewing a image. Krita doesn't seem to work good with the RGB/alpha channels and it seems as though there is an optimization to rely only on the transparency mask instead. This causes issues when I deliver images I create with Krita -- the images don't look good and have left over data in the RGB/alpha channels (affecting teams using the images in the game editor), even though the image renders great when applying the transparency mask. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. New image (RGB/Alpha 8-bit) - 2 layers with background defined 2. Using drawing tool (stylus) and Basic-brush, select a solid color and draw a circle. Fill in the circle using the same brush 3. Using Eraser Circle brush, clean up about 2-10 pixels all around the edge of the circle to make the edges look more crisp. Also draw a smile in the center of the circle using the eraser. 4. Now hide the background layer (not needed, just useful) 5. Right click on the Paint layer 1 and select "Split Alpha" -> "Alpha into Mask" 6. Now hide the transparency mask OBSERVED RESULT The original content data where you erased the image remains in all RGB and Alpha channels EXPECTED RESULT Even when I save the image the data that I thought I erased is still in there. The game I contribute to has an editor engine which doesn't render transparency (only in the game mode does it render transparency -- this is to make it easier to manipulate objects in the editor). Having this extra data remain in the image sucks cause now it looks completely incorect. NOTE: If I use a selection tool and press "Delete" to clear, it actually clears all RGB channels and sets the transparency mask. I expect the eraser tool to do this as well. [plasmashell] [Bug 482347] Switching primary screen swaps wallpaper
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482347 --- Comment #3 from Douglas Beach --- Ok... what's the use case for having the wallpaper change? Or to turn that around, how can I configure my laptop so that I don't have to change my wallpaper every time I plug in my external monitor? I don't feel like it's especially niche to have a laptop that's sometimes does not have the built-in screen as the primary. On the flip side I'm struggling to figure out why anyone would *ever* want a screen's wallpaper to change unless he changed it directly. People are used to Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V and other common shortcuts, but that's not how it works in Konsole. The same should be applied to F10 and F11. I'm pretty much blind and when I'm using terminal apps like I'm used to instead of getting F10 action from my application I'm getting some useless menu.
