KR>Red Oak 2003
Well this is my first. I have contributed some to the old newsletter but have not tried this yet. My question concerns my flight to Red Oak in September. I live in Bakersfield, Calif. and will be taking the route via Kingman, Az., Gallup, NM., and turn north at Tucumcari, NM. I've not flown past NM. and wonder what kind of weather and winds I may encounter en route from NM. to Iowa at that time of year. My plane has been in the air since '98 and flys great. Just remember what I said numerous times in the newsletter, It ain't pretty but it is fun. Thanks. Jeff Bryson, N949JB.

It's been kinda quiet today, so let me throw this one out there. And no matter what it takes, BE THERE! Check this web page, and you'll see why! Details of the hotels, etc, are located at http://www.krgathering.org/ . RE: And to answer the ubiquitous question, "nope, I don't think I'm gonna fly there in N56ML. Maybe in Larry's Tripe if I'm lucky... >>> Better yet, in Larry's KR. I am certain that we will not have N64KR ready to go to the Gathering either but I got our rooms last year and Jerry and I will be there anyway. After going a couple of years and being on the NET, the Gathering becomes more than a KR fly-in. It is an annual gathering of the crazy people who love KRs, whether they are building them or not. It is like an annual re-union. And, it is still the best place to see a real live KR, up close and personal N64KR Daniel R. Well, I hope Larry's getting more done on his KR than I am on mine. When an entire month goes by and you've only put 12 hours into it, it's not real encouraging. I need to get my priorities in order... Mark Langford, still spamless in Huntsville, AL N56ML at hiwaay.net see KR2S project N56ML at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford

I've sent in the paperwork to the FAA. I'm very near down to finish priming and painting. If I can stay unemployed just a few more weeks, this thing might make Red Oak !! The EAA has posted some of their speakers and the KR has made the list again. In their list it shows: Presentations by Jim Faughn Date Time Location Interest 7/30/2003 2:30 PM - 3:45 PM 10EAA SportAir Pavilion Aircraft Homebuilding Short Title KR Aircraft - History, Building and Flying They haven't posted all of their information yet for other speakers so it may be a few weeks before the on-line list is finalized. However, it appears we have a better slot this year before the main airshow. I'll post more in a few weeks about what we will be doing and I'll update my website to reflect what is going on. I'm looking forward to seeing more KR's at Oshkosh and of course Red Oak too.
