https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46308 --- Comment #9 from d...@frametheweb.com 2012-02-20 12:57:01 PST --- Well, I went to go produce some screen captures to illustrate the bug, and seem to have stumbled across a couple more. First: Attachment screen capture hardware acceleration bug 01 illustrates what Impress looks like in the slide editor with hardware acceleration active. Attachment screen capture hardware acceleration bug 02 illustrates what the first slide looks like in the Slide Show Viewer. You can see little bits of yellow text across the top of the image. Attachment screen capture hardware acceleration bug 03 shows the second slide. Again, you can see little bits of yellow text across the top of the image. Second: Attachment new image load bug type 1 shows what the same ppt file looks like when I first load it with hardware acceleration either active OR inactive. The first image won't load in the slide editor until I do something that causes the screen to be refreshed (such as collapsing the tasks panel at right). Third: Some files that worked fine under LibO 3.4.5 no longer load images from ppt. The file was too big to upload as an attachment, so here's a URL of one that is giving me difficulty: http://documents.frametheweb.com/film-and-modernism-1.ppt I delivered this lecture a couple weeks ago without issue under LibO 3.4.5. Same issue with a ppt I used last week. Might go back to 3.4.5 after all. I'll mention again that I'm using a pretty obsolete version of MS Office (Mac 2000) to put these files together... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Select menu item insert, formatting mark Current behavior: Get choice of just 3 characters: non-breaking space non-breaking hyphen optional hyphen Expected behavior: Up to Version 3.4.5, we also had a choice of: no width optional break (identified as ZWSP) no width no break (identified as WORD JOINER) left-to-right mark right-to-left mark I use ZWSP and WJ to correct errors in line-breaking for the Thai script - they will also be useful for correcting word-breaking for Thai spell checking when it is made usable by a change expected for Version 3.5.1. For example, the Northern Thai sentence หัวหน้าแจ้งงานหื้อลูกน้องฟังก่อนหยะญะก๋าน can be made to line-break properly in LibreOffice 3.4.5 and 3.5.0 by sticking a word joiner between the first two characters of หยะ. While ZWSP is found on some keyboards, WJ is very rare. Fonts do not normally have glyphs for these control characters, so insert, special character is not an alternative. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46369] New: FILESAVE: Document saved twice when using WebDAV filesystem
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46369 Bug #: 46369 Summary: FILESAVE: Document saved twice when using WebDAV filesystem Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Status Whiteboard: BSA Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: gar...@metro-tek.com Problem description: When saving on a WebDAV filesystem, document is saved TWICE, i.e. two LOCK/PUT/UNLOCK cycles are executed for the actual document. (in addition to associated operations on the lock file) This is webdav specific, the same does not happen on filesystems where LibreOffice isn't aware of the WebDAV functionality. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open file 2. Save file on a WebDAV filesystem on Windows 7 or XP or OSX Current behavior: Two LOCK/PUT/UNLOCK cycles are executed. Expected behavior: Only expecting one cycle. If you use the same underlying WebDAV server, but instead of using the Windows OS WebDAV client, use the commercial produce webdrive, it operates perfectly. WebDrive hides the identity of the drive from Libre, hence it looks like it has to be Libre's treatment of WebDAV. Platform (if different from the browser): Problem exists on XP, Win7 and OSX/Lion. Re: [Libreoffice-ux-advise] The no border text feature in Writer 3.5 is not complete

Completely dropping that feature for the new angles (actual name?) is then inappropriate in that regard. On the opposite, proposing the angles for people who don't want the un-printable chars (there are some, though I do my best to convert them ;) is ok, as far as the text boundaries can be optionally displayed if the user so wishes. - Adding this option to the unprintable chars switch would be a good option, IMO. That proposition looks good to me as it provides all three possibilities. That being said I don't know when I'll be able to work on it: that's the eternal problem of priorities ;) If someone wants to do it before me, feel free to have a look at sw/source/core/layout/paintfrm.cxx file. This is - like in many other cases - a candidate for for the following scenario: * The user does something which implies LibreOffice to respond in several (almost equal) ways * We don't know what alternative the user might prefer for his special use case The message box asks the user before LibreOffice acts, but it might interrupt the user's workflow. So another alternative is to do something (hoping that we got it right) and to enable the user to decide afterwards. Microsoft Office does this via Action Refinements. Some years ago, I've derived a similar solution incorporating some more use cases: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/User_Experience/DirectManipulationSnippets Of course, nothing that gets implemented just for this bug, but I keep noticing that this behavior would be handy in (literally) hundreds of cases.
