[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69900] FORMATTING: Conditional formatting not saved when using between with alphabetic strings
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69900 --- Comment #6 from sdalbo stefano.dalb...@gmail.com --- Hi Dominique, I had a though about your queston for missing specification for the behaviour of between when used with alphabetical strings. Actually between is an AND of other operators (= , =). Each of such operators is also a possible option for conditional formatting. Possibly behavior of such operator with alphabetical string is better documented. Should this be the case, it would be enough to copy the relevant part of the specifications. Obviously this would improve documentation but wouldn't fix yet the software bug of the erroneous saving of the end condition. I have turned bug status to NEW because it is now assessed that a software fix is required. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69900] FORMATTING: Conditional formatting not saved when using between with alphabetic strings
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69900 --- Comment #3 from Dominique Boutry dominique.bout...@laposte.net --- HI Stephano. I'm new in LibO support/QA, too. A bug is characterized by : - a crash/corruption, - a behavior contrary to the specification, - a behavior contrary to the common sense. The present case is none of the above three, it deserve additional analysis, in my sense. I would point out that a bug may sometimes be corrected by a clarification in documentation, not in the software itself. Should I tell you to switch the present bug to New, what specification would you implement ? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69900] FORMATTING: Conditional formatting not saved when using between with alphabetic strings
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69900 --- Comment #4 from sdalbo stefano.dalb...@gmail.com --- Hi Dominique, I feel this bug falls in third category that you listed. If I set a property (in this case the end clause of the between) I wiuld expect, it is preserved. What puzzles me us that the begin clause is correctly preserved: it looks like that a different routine is invoked in the translation between the field appareance and the internal way to register the info. Possibly the issue is that the begin clause is declared as text not yo be parsed, the end clause to be parsed. Therefore changing either the field declaration or the routine of the end clause to make it/them equal to the way the begin is managed, would fix the bug. Last but least, I was using this conditional formatting since a couple ofyears and only with the recent release it is no longer working. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69900] FORMATTING: Conditional formatting not saved when using between with alphabetic strings
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69900 --- Comment #1 from Dominique Boutry dominique.bout...@laposte.net --- I was unable to find in the LibO doc the expected behavior for a between conditional lay-out with characters rather than numbers. So I was unable to find the way to specify the characters (upper-lower case ? enclosed within none-quote-DoubleQuotes ? which collating sequence when single letters ? What comparison algorithm when words with multiple letters ? etc.). However, what is patently wrong is the fact that LibO doesn't retain my exact typing when I close then reopen the condition (even without save-close-reopen), and change case and delimiter at will, in an unpredictable way.
