Amazon Prim app

2014-02-07 Thread Glenn
Hi,
I am using an iPhone 5, and I am an Amazon Prime member, it's like NetFlix.
Has anyone here tried this app?
The Home screen in this app keeps refreshing, and when I go to the watch
list, and I select something, like an episode of a TV series, the app
closes.
I am running IOS 7.4.
I need to contact Amazon and suggest that they make their app work better
with VO.

They will not be displayed in the table. I think twitter changed something in
their api. I don't know what but I have the same trouble in my lists. You will
not find the ones I linked to in the pod catcher ad I only hove the 10 latest
episodes to keep the xml file smaller then a meg. You will have to dig through
the site and do a search for yorufukurou.

Take care.

On my iPhone, I can go to Thrash, edit and delete. I do not appear to have
this choice on the iPad Mini. Am I missing something or is the option not
there? I seem to have to delete each e-mail from thrash separately.

accessible app to watch the Olympics

2014-02-07 Thread meadowlark77
Hello y'all,

Is there an accessible app we can watch the Olympics with? I tried the
NBC app, but couldn't get it. My cable service, which is Cox, has an app
called Cox Connect, but it's less than accessible with VoiceOver. Is there
anything we can do about this? What's happening here is that my 91-year-old
friend suddenly decides to take up residence in the living room and then if
I want to hear the Olympics until the broadcasts are over, well, say until
one or two in the morning, I can't because she is hassled by me doing this.
So, I'm needing an app.

Thanks in advance,

Brenda

Do I need to reset the display in maverick?

2014-02-07 Thread trevor
I have noticed in a few apps and windows, that maverick or voice over
doesn’t seem to see the window properly.
For instance, in mail, when I arrow from message to message, it says blank and
then reads the message and, when I am in app store it says, that the app store
has no windows, but it still reads what is there.
Is there something I need to reset to make it see everything the way it used to?

Thank you,

Trevor

Re: reading books on the mac with Ibooks.

2014-02-07 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Stuart,

I’m no expert with iBooks, but this is how I make it work for me.

When I open iBooks, I’m on Library list where I can interact and select a book.
I press Cmd-o and the book opens.
This is where it gets complicated.
When you first open a book, it will open at the beginning. You have to find the
scroll area and interact with HTML content. VO-a will read continuously through
one chapter.
There is a Next Chapter command, but it doesn’t seem to work.
I can display the chapter I want by pressing Cmd-t to show the Table of
contents, then turning cursor tracking off and interacting with the table. I
navigate to the place I want, bring the mouse (VO-Cmd-F5), do a VO-Shift-Space
and turn cursor tracking back on.
I then locate the scroll area and interact with each HTML content area until I
find the right one.

Every time I select another chapter, it seems to add it to the number of HTML
areas displayed.

Cheers,

Anne

Re: drawing a blank on how to rid myself of the preview pain

2014-02-07 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Caitlyn,

VO-j does not open the message. The message is already open as soon as you
navigate to it using VO. You cannot pass over a message without it being marked
as read as long as the preview pane is active.

I don’t know whether getting rid of the preview pane makes it easier to read
with Braille. It all depends on what you find difficult about it.

Cheers,

Anne

I have Mavericks and the current 10.9

Hello Caitlyn,

When the preview pane is there, VO users can’t leave any messages unopened as
just the fact of landing on a message, opens it. Without the preview pane, we
can choose whether or not to open a message.

Cheers,

Re: YoruFukuru help

2014-02-07 Thread Catherine Turner
Hi Dane, Sarah,

Thanks for the info on how to find and follow a user Dane.

Sarah great, I'll have a listen to those podcasts. I subscribe to
tffp in my pod catcher Icatcher but just had a look through episodes
not downloaded and the ones you link to don't seem to be listed.
Wonder if I need to look back further or maybe you had a different
feed address before...

The next difficulty I'm having is trying to look at older tweets than
the ones currently being displayed. Need to go back over the last few
days and they're not displayed in the table. Went to preferences and
told it to display 800 tweets but it doesn't seem to have done this.

In an attempt to find help on this went into the help menu. Always
struggle with help menus on the Mac, VO normally says "search results
interactive" and I then can't get anything spoken and normally give up
and press escape. This time I thought, since it was described as
search results interactive, I'll try typing something in there. So
typed "older" meaning to search help for "older", pressed Enter, upon
which I sent out a tweet just saying "older". How embarrassing.
Maybe people will think it's my birthday? lol Will have a listen to
the podcasts next anyway...

Thanks for your help,
Catherine

Hi Daniela,

I agree new keynote is a revelation. One thing that is interesting is the fact
that when in Slideshow mode, the text content appears in ‘edit’ fields. Wonder
why they did that.
