VO on Nano: Can it Read the menus also?
I've got Vo on the new 5th gen nano working ok but it only reads what's currently playing. In the prefs for this nano I have checked Use VoiceOver and use system Speech. It won't let me check use menus unless I turn the Use VoiceOver off. What am I doing wrong? I'd like it to read both menus, and what's playing, and whatever else may be possible. TIA. RE: Using voice over during a call on iphone.
Hi Tony, Once you get the voice volume adjusted, you only have to move the phone away when you want to do something on the screen. The problem is that when the phone is next to your face, the screen becomes inactive. If you think about it, you'll se the logic here. If the screen were active while you were holding the phone next to your face, you could end up launching all kinds of stuff while you were on the call! Re: question about "unread" in status column in mail
Thanks. I understand what you are saying about the preview pane and messages being marked as "read". However, I'm still confused a little about how to get voiceover to let me know if a message is read or "unread. I do not have mouse cursor following the voiceover cursor. However, voiceover continues to say "blank" and I know there is a graphic or symbol that indicates the mail is unread. I know this from sighted help and also zooming the voiceover cursor as large as I can get it. I do not like to rely on my limitted vision though as it is very time consuming and sometimes I still need sighted help and I prefer to do it on my own. :) I hope what I'm saying makes sense. :) Thanks for any help or thoughts, Christina On Sep 19, 2009, at 11:54 AM, Barry Hadder wrote: > > Hello again, > > If the preview pain is on, the message is marked as read when you move > focus over it. Re: Looking for an Easy-To-Use Commercial DVD Ripper for Snow Leopard
Hey Mark. Why don't you try a cool little open source program called handbreak. Sorry I didn't give you a direct link but you could probably google search it. Only thing is that I'm not sure if it will let you select episodes though but the worse you could do is give it a try. HTH. On 2009-09-19, at 12:07 PM, M. Re: gmail
Hi May. It could be that the gmail section of your mailboxes table is collapsed. Interact with the mailboxes table, and find the row that says gmail. If it says it's collapsed, expand it with VO backslash. I assume you're using imap with gmail? If so, check out this article which should everything you need to know to get it set up properly. http://db.tidbits.com/article/10253 Darcy On 2009-09-19, at 7:32 AM, May and Wynter wrote: > Hi everyone. Looking for an Easy-To-Use Commercial DVD Ripper for Snow Leopard
Hello Everyone, As the title suggests, I am looking for a all-in-one step commercial DVD ripper for my Macbook Pro. In the best case scenario, I would launch the program, insert the DVD, select what type of output such as .mp4, iPhone, etc, select start, and that's it. The application does not have to be free. I simply want a simple app and not one in which I have to become a video editor. Oh, as many of my DVDs contain television episodes, I need an app that will allow me to manually select which episodes to rip. I have such an app on my Windows computer but it is not Jaws accessible and my PC is significantly slower than my Mac. I would appreciate any help on this. Requesting help with creating a new group in Address Book with SL
Hello, I'm trying to create a new group in my address book for the first time using Snow Leopard. I can't seem to figure it out. When I select create new group, a group titled Unknown group appears in the groups table. I have selected rename group from the edit menu, but nothing seems to happen. I've hit enter and interacted with the Unknown group, but I can't change the name like a file or folder. In leopard, when creating a new group, a dialogue appeared with a edit box for the name along with an OK button. The funny thing is that It's now simple as can be to create a smart group in the address book. The problem here is that the smart groups aren't syncing to my iPhone with Mobile Me. I'm hoping someone can give this a try and point me in the correct direction Thanks, Brett --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Transferring files from Mac to Braille device
Hi, I am using the handy Tech Braille Wave as a display under SL. does anybody know if it is possible to transfer files to the Braille device either via Bluetooth or via USB? HT has a Linux (.rpm) version of their communication program available, but i don't know how to run such packages under MacOSX. So, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
