We’ll get there. This flight was cancelled yesterday for the first time this 
year. There are only a few flights in/out of Flagstaff daily - 4 on American 
and two on United. United is dropping their service the end of October.

There’s no question it’s a staffing issue, but in fairness, weather has 
exacerbated things the last day or two. I tracked the original inbound 
equipment earlier today. It was going from Midlands, TX, to DFW, then to 
Jackson, MS and back to DFW. The Midlands flight (this morning) was already an 
hour late, delays at DFW and Jackson would have pushed it out so far it would 
never have made it back here before midnight.

To American’s credit, they saw this and found new equipment. The rub is that 
they had no crew. I figured this would happen.

Inbound equipment is coming from Corpus Christie and is on the ground, so as 
long as a crew shows up we’re good to go and will only be in two hours late. 
With all the other havoc in the system today I’m counting myself lucky.

And this is after having to reschedule from Sunday because the Flagstaff flight 
was cancelled. At least they anticipated that well in advance and we knew long 
before we would have left for the airport.

It’s still a cluster. We usually take an early morning flight from Tampa to 
Phoenix, but that’s been taken out of the schedule until October. If we could 
have done that we would have been home hours ago.

They will claim weather, maintenance, whatever. I think it all goes back to 
staffing. The airlines are running on skeleton crews since the pandemic. All 
the old guys took retirement and the young guys look at the scheduling and pay 
and say no thanks.

[MBZ] An idea about my doors

Today when I got into to KC I stopped by a local import yard that showed on car 
part to have a rear window for a 140 I need. This is not a pnp but they sold me 
the window cheaper because I went and pulled it myself. While back in the yard 
I spotted a white 210 with good doors and even the door panels were the same 
color. I inquired and they would sell me the set for $250. I told them I would 
probably have to come back as I don’t have my truck. Just now the thought hit 
me. Maybe I should go back on Friday and I can just do the swap to my car right 
there and return home with a new set of doors. I will have to look but I can’t 
remember if the handle has a key hole. I know it’s got an infrared reader for 
the key but does this have to be matched to the car?

I use a small bright light to illuminate the work area. If you are TIG  welding 
you really need to see what you’re doing. Either illuminate the area and/ or 
get a high quality helmet. Optrel is what I use.

I made a 50A extension cord, with the same triplex outlet set on it as is 
mounted
inside my garage doorways.  I can put anything out there now. Welder, camper,
range, genset...

Point taken, but it's a fairly open area, concrete floor, and I weld on a metal 
table.

I need to get a longer cord on my welder so I can get it out into the driveway.

[MBZ] Service manual quest

I have been looking all over the web and have found  a confusing selection
of manuals for my nephew's R107 1989 560Sl.
There are free download and print manuals but that seems suspicious. On the
other extreme  are some that are VERY expensive.
Used is OK. fair price-not cheap-and I want paper not CD. Any advice?

That would be why I bought an induction heater for bolts and nuts, instead of 
buying an oxy acetalyne set. Cherry red is cherry red. No matter how it gets 
there.

Most are somewhat adjustable. Look for a knob or switch that will change 
the degree of darkness.

some kind of trade lingo referring to a rebuild kit (clutches, seals, gaskets,

suppliers. Or maybe originated by a company named "Banner" but now a generic

If I recall correctly, I used a spark plug socket upside down. Use the 
socket that has the sort of hex nut machined into the top of it and then 
use an extension pushed in from the bottom. Might need to remove the 
rubber tube that is supposed to hold the spark plug so it does not fall out.

Yeah that is the problem looking for cars around here.

The nice looking ones are almost always too far away to risk a trip and then 
failing to agree on a price, or having it sell before I get there. Most sellers 
will not negotiate remotely (for good reasons, I wouldn't either). And there's 
always the chance that there's undisclosed rust on top of all that.

   I wonder if this car has a 722.9, if so probably needs a new CP. 
   Plus keys are nonexistent


   Seller's Description

I bought this car to fix. Had work done on transmission, I had the 
solenoids replaced on conductor plate, but it still isn’t communicating 
with the can bus system because of a fault in the plug. That should have 
been taken care of while the transmission was disassembled. So, I had a 
house fire in which both keys were destroyed. Keys must be programmed at 
a dealership. At this point I am cutting my losses. Make me a reasonable 
offer. I am posting this on August 21; I’ll try to attend to this post. 
Buy this car. It is tough.
