I did some work at Whiteman in the hangars for these aircraft. A couple things of note that I recall (and can discuss): Many of the perimeter guards at this base were women. Not sure if this was intentional or a coincidence. Gobbler's Knob or whatever it was had the only restaurant nearby. Got to enter the cockpit and sit in the pilot's seat. No photos, unfortunately. Amazingly, a WalMart folding beach chair in the aft compartment for crew members to snooze in. Hangars were like a surgical suite. First time I was there you had to wear a bunny suit to enter. Later visits did not. Amazing aircraft. They looked fast just sitting in the hangar. I went to High School about 20mi from these special hangers in Whiteman AFB that house the Stealths. When practicing for baseball or running for cross country, we would see (not hear) flyovers all the time. If you watched during a turn, it would turn from normal shape into a pencil line in the sky, and back into normal shape. When it was flying directly at you or away from you, it was merely a pencil line in the sky. Way cool visual stealth features.
