I had it done at Discount Tire. Both are holding air. They rebalanced them. I
just don’t remember ever seeing the much plug sticking out, but, to be fair, I

The correct tire shop repair is to plug the hole, trim the plug inside the
tire and install a reinforced patch over the plug and injury, thus ensuring
an airtight seal that will last the life of the tire.
This repair required dismount , repair, remount and rebalance...
I can presume all that was done in good order since a tire shop did it.

It’s probably a plug patch. It has a patch inside with a plug that protrudes
out they the hole. Looks good.

They are both. Originally the "square" Bosch lights were fitted only to
the 280s (and maybe the lesser model coupes?), but starting in about
1983, the the "round" Hella lights were dropped completely and all 123s
were equipped with the Bosch lights. The Bosch lights are at least
theoretically superior as they have a larger reflector area, but the
Hellas do project a better fog beam.

I have the full size Euros on my W123 and my W124.

Those are definitely Euro lights as supplied from the factory. A
neighbour down the road has them on his 230.

The foggies are round but it does somehow look different to normal euro
lights, they could be some sort of aftermarket manufacture or just the angle
the pictures where taken at.

I have plenty of cars with dried/cracking boots none leaking but I'm
considering buying the set-up and doing them all as a preventative
measure. I can use it for commercial purposes too, so one way or the
other it will pay for itself. I think its a great idea but would like
to handle a few boots to evaluate the quality.
